Abstract: The present invention provides a transversely interconnecting slidable stair rod bracket. The bracket may also be provided for use in a stair rod set, the set also including a stair carpet retaining rod and a finial. The bracket has a top portion and a bottom portion. The top portion having a plurality of projections and complementary shaped channels for receiving projections from the bottom portion; the bottom portion contains a rod-receiving portion, an outside end wall with an aperture therein for accepting either a threaded finial fastener which engages with a “female” finial, or the fastening portion of a “male” finial, and a plurality of projections and complementary shaped channels for receiving projections from the top portion.
Abstract: An apparatus to interlock a multi-door enclosure includes an actuating member slidably mountable to the enclosure between a primary door and a secondary door. The actuating member includes a first end extendable through an opening in a door post between the primary door and the secondary door. The apparatus includes a latching member slidably mounted to the actuating member and extending over a second end of the actuating member to engage a portion of the secondary door.

Abstract: A multi-axis automobile door mount providing a combination of swing-out and vertical-lift motion suitable for retrofitting a conventional swing-out automobile door for vertical-lift operation. The door is opened from a closed position in the conventional swing-out movement about a swing-out hinge. At a predetermined swing-out angle of the door to the automobile body, the door is moved in an upward vertical direction about the vertical-lift hinge. The door is closed by lowering the door to the horizontal orientation and closed in the conventional swing-in manner. A vertical-lift door system is provided to substantially incorporate the movement of a vertical-lift door with an integrated system of one or more hinges and lift assist devices. The lift assist devices provide for, singularly or in combination, among other things, controlled and deliberate movement of the door, power-assisted door operation, and/or easier integration and assembly onto the automobile.
Abstract: Fluid sealing system for installation within an assembly including a stationary machine part having a generally annular surface, and a reciprocable machine part having a generally cylindrical surface disposed concentrically with the annular surface of the stationary machine part. The system includes annular primary and secondary seal members each configured to be received within a corresponding gland of the annular surface coaxially intermediate the cylindrical surface of the movable machine part and a peripheral wall of the glands. The primary seal member has axially spaced-apart upper and lower end faces, and radially spaced-apart inner and outer diameter faces. The inner diameter face is formed to contact the cylindrical surface of the movable machine part along at least one dynamic sealing surface, and the outer diameter face is formed to contact the peripheral side wall of the gland along at least one static sealing surface.
