  • Patent number: 10259680
Abstract: A cable system A includes a cable 3 for connecting a base device 1 and a travelling body 2, a reel device 10 mounted on the travelling body 2, a motor controller 40 for controlling a motor 15 of the reel device 10, and a rotary encoder 16 (rotation sensor) for detecting rotation of a reel 12. The motor controller 40 basically makes the motor 15 free, when the reel 12 is rotating in an unreeling direction, and basically applies a rotational torque in a reeling direction to the reel 12, when the reel 12 is rotating in the reeling direction. Furthermore, even if the reel 12 is rotating in the unreeling direction, if an unreeling speed of the cable 3 exceeds a travelling speed of the travelling body 2, the rotational torque in the reeling direction is applied to the reel 12. Slackening of the cable 3 is thereby prevented.

  • Patent number: 10246253
Abstract: In a fluid reservoir tank such as an oil tank, the metal roof floats. The American Petroleum Institute (API) Recommended Practice (RP) number 545 requires a floating roof to tank resistance of less than 30 milli-ohms. The improved cable system uses a preferred aluminum braided cable to provide low resistance combined with resistance to sour fluids. Prior art used copper and tinned copper braided cables. The new reel is factory pre-assembled and tensioned using a new cable guide with a cable stop bar which stops a cable stop attached near the end of the (approximately 80 foot) cable. A new spring assembly increased tension and extends cable life by minimizing slack in the cable.

  • Patent number: 10234017
Abstract: A fluid transfer coupling includes a first and second shaft assembly. The first shaft assembly includes a shaft and annular fin attached to shaft, annular fin having one or more internal passages extending therethrough. The or each internal passage connects a center portion of shaft to a radially outwardly facing side of annular fin. The second shaft assembly includes a shaft and annular trough extending radially outwardly of shaft. The first shaft is concentrically accommodated within second shaft with annular fin being accommodated within annular trough. In use, first shaft assembly rotates at a first rotational speed and second shaft assembly rotates at a second rotational speed, with second rotational speed being greater than first rotational speed. The difference between second and first rotational speeds cause a fluid contained within annular trough to be driven radially inwardly through the or each internal passage to center portion of first shaft.
