Abstract: A printing system performs control to input sheet information regarding a single set of sheets consisting of a plurality of sheets including a sheet loaded in a sheet feeding unit of a printing apparatus. The printing system performs control to, based on the input sheet information, register the number of sheets corresponding to a single set in management information in which a stock of sheets is managed. The printing system also performs control to, based on consumption of a sheet by the printing apparatus, update information managed in the management information.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, a controller, and an image processor that creates a reduced-size image from an original-size image of back-side image data at a size reduction ratio according to a magnification ratio from a first shrunk state of a recording paper sheet with only a front-side image formed to a second shrunk state after formation of the front-side and back-side images so that the back-side and front-side images on the sheet match respective original sizes of front-side image data and back-side image data. The controller allows the image forming device to form the front-side image, sets, based on a margin formed by the size reduction, a print start position for a back side of the sheet where the front-side and back-side images on the sheet are locationally aligned, and then allows the image forming device to form the reduced-size image as the back-side image.

Abstract: When an information processing apparatus having local connection to a first printing apparatus is moved from a first connection area to a third connection area, the information processing apparatus is caused to have wide area connection to the first printing apparatus in the third connection area, and when the information processing apparatus having wide area connection to a second printing apparatus is moved from the third connection area to the first connection area, a user is requested to select the first printing apparatus or the second printing apparatus, and the information processing apparatus is connected to the apparatus selected by the user in response to the request.

For example, the MFD includes a communication interface to establish a communication path with a remote server, a user interface to receive a request to create an electronic file based on a scan of a document, a processor, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a plurality of instructions. The instructions when executed by the processor cause the processor to scan the document to create the electronic file of the document, generate an encryption code associated with the electronic file of the document that is scanned, and transmit the electronic file to the remote server.

Abstract: Spot aware print workflow techniques and system are described. In an implementation, a digital document is received for printing that includes a plurality of objects. Spot functionality is detected as corresponding to a respective object based on object properties detected for the respective object. One or more spot planes for are generated based on the spot functionality and a determination is made of color values for the one or more spot planes, respectively, based on context data describing a context, in which, the one or more spot planes are to be printed. The spot planes having the color values are output for printing by a print mechanism.

Abstract: An authentication method is used in pairing a peripheral device to a companion device. The peripheral device sends a first identifier and a first value of a first counter to the companion device. The companion device verifies whether a pairing table stored in the companion device contains the first identifier. When the pairing table does not include the first identifier the companion device initiates a pairing session. When the pairing table includes the first identifier, the companion device compares the first value to a second value associated with the first identifier in the pairing table. In response to the first value being greater than the second value, the companion devices initiates a nominal session and in response to the first value being lower than or equal to the second value, execution of the method is stopped.
