  • Patent number: 9486809
Abstract: A method is disclosed for operating a mill at continuous input and output mass flows, and to the mill, wherein a process model based on power balance equations and mass balance equations is used. Characteristic process variables can be measured in a simple manner outside the mill. Characteristic process variables which are still not known can be ascertained by means of inserting the measured values into a respective power balance equation, assuming that the other process variables are in each case known or are insignificant. On this basis, the mill can be actuated in an optimum manner in order to provide a high output power.

  • Patent number: 9486810
Abstract: A pulverizer 10 includes a journal assembly 19 with a grinding roller 18 that grinds solids in a grinding table 14. The oscillations of the journal assembly 19 are monitored by an angular displacement transducer (ADT) 32 that creates a composite signal. A controller 83 receives the composite signal from the ADT and compares it with known information of the pulverizer 10. It then identifies abnormal situations such as damage to a grinding roll 14, the grinding table 14, the spring assembly 20 and other parts of the pulverizer 10 before they cause major damage.

  • Patent number: 9482457
Abstract: An ice shaving machine includes a base, a main body mounted on the base and having a platform provided with a shaving blade, a limit module mounted on the platform, and a rotation disk mounted in the main body. The limit module has an inner periphery provided with a receiving space. Thus, the ice block is limited by the limit module so that the ice block will not produce vibration during rotation to keep the stability and safety of the ice shaving machine during operation. In addition, the limit module has a central point the same as that of the platform so that when the ice block is received in the receiving space of the limit module and is shaved by the shaving blade, the force from the ice block is distributed evenly and smoothly on the shaving blade.

  • Patent number: 9480988
Abstract: The invention relates to a shredder/document shredder for sheet-shaped material, such as paper and material of the like or similar data storage media, having a thickness sensor which protrudes at least partially into a receiving slot. According to the invention, the thickness sensor does not change its position if too much material to be shredded (for example, paper) passes into the receiving slot, but rather pivots about its rotational axis as a result of the friction with the material. A switch is actuated by way of the pivoting movement, as a result of which the electric drive of the shredder is interrupted.

  • Patent number: 9475056
Abstract: A flow disrupter in a tube chamber of a tube assembly for homogenizing sample materials includes a flow-disrupting body that extends generally transversely into the tube chamber and divides the tube chamber into two sub-chambers. The flow-disrupting body includes at least one narrowed flow passageway through which the sample flows back and forth in both axially reciprocating directions as the tube assembly is vigorously shaken at high speeds faster and more reliably than what can be accomplished by hand shaking. And the flow-disrupting body includes at least two flow-interrupting surfaces facing generally in opposite axial directions and against which the sample impacts in each respective axially reciprocating direction as the tube assembly is vigorously shaken. In this way, the vigorous high-speed shaking of the tube assembly including the flow disrupter results in significant particle-size reduction of the sample by mechanical shear, fluid shear, cavitation, and/or pressure differentials.

  • Patent number: 9475059
Abstract: A cutting blade assembly establishes a bidirectional and/or multifaceted scissor-type cutting action to efficiently and effectively process various types of debris encountered by the cutting blade assembly. The assembly includes a cutting plate and a cutting hub configured for relative rotation. A cutting slot is formed in the cutting plate and intersects the axial face to define a cutting edge at the intersection of the cutting slot and the axial face. The cutting hub has a cutting arm positioned adjacent to the axial face. When the cutting plate and the cutting hub undergo relative rotation, the cutting arm passes adjacent to the cutting edge to perform a scissor-type cutting action.

  • Patent number: 9475057
Abstract: Some of the embodiments described herein relate to liner elements such as lifter bars that can be used in grinding mills. In one example, a lifter bar has a top elastomeric layer and a bottom elastomeric layer, the composition of the top elastomeric layer being different from that of the bottom elastomeric layer. In another example, a lifter bar is constructed from carbon black-reinforced natural rubber and has a leading face and a protrusion at a top region of the leading face. In a further example, a lifter bar is fabricated from carbon black-reinforced natural rubber and has a leading face geometry such that face angle ? remains 25° or less over an operational period measured form the time the lifter bar is new, until the height of the lifter bar is reduced by a certain amount, e.g., by 80%. Also disclosed are methods for manufacturing an elastomeric liner element and for grinding an ore.

  • Patent number: 9468929
Abstract: A reducing machine having an air cooled cutting discs is disclosed. The air cooled discs have cutting surfaces on both sides. The cutting surfaces have edges which are sharpened for cutting input material when the cutting surface is facing the cutting surface of the opposed disc. When the cutting surface of the stationary disc is facing the housing, the cutting surface acts as a heat sink to air cool the stationary disc and the mill assembly in general. Air inlets in the housing lid permit air to flow over the cooling surface. A damper restricts air flow over the air cooling surface to control the temperature of the reducing machine, such as during start up.

  • Patent number: 9469472
Abstract: A method and means for disaggregating aggregated particulate. A housing contains a rotational motor and a vibrating motor also has an auger drivingly linked to the rotational motor. Legs extend from the housing in the same direction as the auger and the device rests upon the aggregated particulate. Upon driving the rotational motor, the auger bores through the aggregated particulate, thereby disaggregating particulate. The vibrating motor is also driven to vibrate and further disaggregate the particulate. A plate device with a vibrating motor attached is also used to disaggregate the particulate, such as by teeth extending from the bottom of the plate that are driven into the aggregate by the weight of the plate when vibrated.

  • Patent number: 9468933
Abstract: A document shredder with a motor, a cutting unit, and a motor control, wherein the motor control may start, stop and reverse the motor. The motor control may limit the maximally allowed load of the motor to a predetermined load limit value. In case the motor reaches the maximally allowed load limit value, the load limit value may be increased for a predetermined time, either manually or automatically. In this way a short overload does not lead to a paper jam and the shredder does not have to be reversed, which may cause a paper mess in the workplace. The motor may be a direct current motor and/or a series motor, so that the load limit value may be defined by a maximally allowable motor current.

  • Patent number: 9469050
Abstract: A separation device includes a first shredding unit, a first separation unit, and a first air pipe. The first shredding unit shreds a processing target containing a first material and a second material. The first separation unit rotates a first tubular portion in a state in which the processing target shredded by the first shredding unit is accommodated therein, thereby separating the second material passing through first holes from the processing target. The first air pipe transfers the processing target shredded by the first shredding unit to the first separation unit with air pressure. The first air pipe has a first portion that extends in a first direction, and a second portion that is connected to the first portion on a downstream side of the first portion and that extends in a second direction substantially orthogonal to the first direction.
