  • Patent number: 5959698
Abstract: A poly phase filter for converting a sampling frequency of a digital video signal to perform a dot sequential color difference signal conversion operation, the digital video signal including a luminance signal and a color difference signal, the color difference signal including two color difference signal components. The poly phase filter is adapted to generate a plurality of poly phase filter coefficients to be used to process the luminance signal and to process the color difference signal. The poly phase filter is also adapted to process the generated poly phase filter coefficients in units of two to process the color difference signal. Therefore, the present invention has the effect of reducing the hardware size and the associated cost.

  • Patent number: 5953074
Abstract: A video adapter circuit for adapting analog video signals provided by a personal computer system designed to drive a CRT display monitor into signals appropriate for driving a flat panel display monitor. The video adapter circuit accepts analog video and synchronizing signals in any one of several scanning formats commonly utilized in personal computer systems and automatically detects the scanning format of the signals. An oscillator generates a clock signal that is synchronized with the HSYNC signal generated by the personal computer system. Each of the analog RGB video signals are amplified by a video amplifier and sampled, according to the clock signal, by an analog-to-digital converter. A controller circuit compresses the sampled video signals and stores the compressed data in a dual-port video frame memory at a rate determined by the scanning format.

  • Patent number: 5936675
Abstract: A system for reducing flickers in converting non-interlaced video signals to interlaced video signals is disclosed. The non-interlaced video signals are first modified by two independent adjustable parameters, each having a different weight on the received signals. A FIFO line buffer is used to delay respectively and alternatively the two modified signals to generate a portion of output signals. The final output interlaced signals are generated by combining the delayed signal from the FIFO line buffer with one of the two modified signals. As a result and for the first time, only one FIFO line buffer is used in such system for producing a converted interlaced signal with minimum visual errors in video signal conversions.

  • Patent number: 5903301
Abstract: An apparatus for removing unnecessary data in communication networks and used in a television transmitting and receiving devices of a cable television system and the like is disclosed. In a television receiving device capable of carrying out data communications, if an unnecessary data such as an address change command is contained in the data stream transmitted from the transmitting device to the receiving device, the unnecessary data is removed in advance. That is, in the present invention, if an unnecessary data is contained in a command, then a CRC error is forcibly generated, so that the receiving device can ignore a data stream containing the unnecessary data, thereby removing unnecessary data. In this manner, the damages to the software or hardware of the receiving device can be prevented.
