  • Patent number: 11746566
Abstract: A lock includes a pair of spaced apart parallel bolts connected by a plate extending between the bolts. A slot, formed in a hinged structure, such as a gate, extends from a free edge of the structure (an edge opposite a hinged edge) to an end point at a determined distance from the free edge. The plate is received in the slot. Each bolt is located on an opposite side of the hinged structure, when the plate is received in the slot. The slot defines a range of sliding motion of the plate and bolts.

  • Patent number: 11719020
Abstract: An electro-mechanical unlocking device that includes a locking state, a holding state and an unlocking state. The unlocking device includes an arming solenoid and a holding solenoid. In the locking state the arming solenoid moves an arming assembly, which moves a crank and which moves a holding armature from a second position to a first position. In the holding state the holding solenoid is energized and the arming solenoid is de-energizing, which allows the arming armature to moves from the first position to the second position. In the unlocking state the holding solenoid is de-energized, which allows the holding armature and the arming link to move from the first position to the second position. • Patent number: 11713595
Abstract: A door lock chassis has a gauge insert that defines different dimensions corresponding to different door thicknesses. The gauge insert is positionable in the lock chassis in different orientations corresponding to the different dimensions used to align the lock chassis for different door thicknesses. Additionally, a door lock may include an anti-rotation assembly for preventing rotation of the lock chassis. The anti-rotation assembly may include a retention member that is secured to an inside hub of a lock chassis. As an anti-rotation member is displaced in a first axial direction along the inside hub to a mount position, the anti-rotational member may deflect resilient members of the retention member. With the anti-rotation member at the mounted position, the anti-rotation member may be in a frictional engagement with the previously deflected resilient members so that anti-rotation member is retained at the mount position.

  • Patent number: 11713601
Abstract: A method of operating an entry system of a motor vehicle includes monitoring a battery voltage and the entry system continuously using a control circuit of the latch assembly in a non-emergency mode. Power is provided to the control circuit in the event of a loss of power from a main power source using a backup energy source of the control circuit. The method includes transitioning to an emergency mode in response to determining loss of power from the main power source or failure of the component of the entry system. An actuation group associated with the latch assembly is operated with the control circuit using power from the backup energy source of the control circuit in response to determining that actuation from a plurality of pins of a mechanical emergency switch assembly indicates a command from a user to unlatch the closure member in the emergency mode.

  • Patent number: 11686128
Abstract: A tool box or tool cabinet (hereafter: “tool box”) is provided with a locking mechanism having a locked condition in which it prevents access to tools within the tool box, and an unlocked condition in which it allows access to tools within the tool box. An electric motor has a rotor, and is provided with a microprocessor and control circuit, coupled to the motor for controlling it. The microprocessor is adapted to receive Bluetooth signals when paired to a user's portable Bluetooth-enabled mobile device, The microprocessor and control circuit are effective, when the user's portable Bluetooth-enabled mobile device is sufficiently close to the control circuit to be detected, to energise the motor to rotate the rotor in a first sense, effective to disable the locking mechanism to allow access to the tools.

  • Patent number: 11686130
Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for operating a power tailgate system include overload checking a tailgate latched by a latch that is in a full-latching position, connected with a latch actuator, and activated by the latch actuator for non-revertible movement in a latching direction. Overload checking the tailgate includes operating the latch actuator to over-stroke the latch, identifying an over-stroking load on the latch actuator, and based on the over-stroking load on the latch actuator, determining whether the tailgate is overloaded or not overloaded. Over-stroking the latch includes moving the latch in the latching direction from the full-latching position to an over-stroking position, and the over-stroking load on the latch actuator is associated with its operation to over-stroke the latch.

  • Patent number: 11670194
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a method for tamper-evident shipment or storage of goods. An Electrical Shield pattern is embedded in or printed on a substrate with other electrical, optical, and electronic components, communication components, semiconductors, which are attached or printed on a substrate to form a shipment bag used as a shipping container. The shield pattern can be made variable between different bags by using algorithms entered into a printer control system. The shipment bag with its components can then be assigned a unique signature which differentiates each bag. Application of encryption methods serves to guarantee the shipped goods are authentic and that were not tampered with during shipment. Digital signal processing is used to generate pedigree information, which may include items such as shipping location, serial numbers, sensor information, and lot numbers for the goods.
