  • Patent number: 8103034
Abstract: A mounting device includes a positioning frame mounted with an electronic device, and two clamping mechanisms. Each clamping mechanism includes a sliding member movable vertically relative to the positioning frame, a clamping member movable horizontally relative to the sliding member between an extended position and a retracted position, a spring for biasing the clamping member toward the extended position, and a height-adjusting member operable to adjust the vertical position of the sliding member relative to the positioning frame. The clamping members can be moved to the retracted positions to allow for movement of the clamping members through a mounting hole in a horizontal plate, after which the height-adjusting members is operable to move the clamping members toward the positioning frame to thereby clamp the plate between the positioning frame and the clamping members.

  • Patent number: 8093481
Abstract: Systems and methods for editing a computer-base musical score include detecting a collision between objects placed in the score and automatically moving one of the colliding objects out of the way to eliminate the collision. Selection of the object to be moved is based on a comparison of the priority levels of the colliding objects. To enhance clarity and legibility of the score, objects are organized into groups of similar type objects. Groups are treated as a single object for the purposes of avoiding collisions. Certain object types are transformed, including scaled, rotated, or sheared, to avoid collisions.

  • Patent number: 8077898
Abstract: A dual-frequency coaxial earphone includes a frame, a shared yoke, a high frequency speaker part, and a low frequency speaker part. The high frequency speaker part and the low frequency speaker part are coaxially arranged at inside and outside of the shared yoke, and are coaxial with a central opening of the frame. Further, a permanent magnet of the higher frequency speaker part is contrary, in polarity, to an annular magnet of the low frequency speaker part. Therefore, acoustic frequency of the low frequency speaker part can be phase-countered by passing thereof through an acoustic annular recess, so that the acoustic frequency of the low frequency speaker part has the same phase as the acoustic frequency of the high frequency speaker part and both then are output synchronally. The high frequency speaker part and the low frequency speaker part can then be separated, in acoustic frequency, from each other.

  • Patent number: 8076564
Abstract: Described are methods, systems, and apparatuses, including computer program products, for scoring a musical performance after a period of ambiguity in a rhythm-action game. This is accomplished by displaying a first target music data and a second target music data where the first target music data's tolerance threshold overlaps with a second target music data's tolerance threshold. When a music performance input data is received, the game platform determines if the music performance input data is within both tolerance thresholds. Then scores are determined, based on a degree of matching between the music performance input data and the first target music data and between the music performance input data and the second target music data. The game platform then assigns the music performance input data to whichever target music data has the higher score when the difference between the first and second scores is greater than a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 8067684
Abstract: In a filter device, a filter coefficient calculation circuit has a parameter table. The parameter table stores a plurality of sets of filter coefficients associated with a first parameter based on a frequency and a second parameter based on respective plurality of levels representing a degree of attenuation or enhancement of a gain of a filter in filter characteristics. The filter coefficient calculation circuit extracts a set of filter coefficients from a parameter table with the use of the first parameter and the second parameter determined according to a frequency and a strength of a musical sound signal, and outputs the extracted set of filter coefficients to the filter. The filter circuit performs filter processing for the musical sound signal, based on the filter characteristics determined by the set of filter coefficients.

  • Patent number: 8049093
Abstract: During operation, a “coarse search” stage applies variable-scale windowing on the query pitch contours to compare them with fixed-length segments of target pitch contours to find matching candidates while efficiently scanning over variable tempo differences and target locations. Because the target segments are of fixed-length, this has the effect of drastically reducing the storage space required in a prior-art method. Furthermore, by breaking the query contours into parts, rhythmic inconsistencies can be more flexibly handled. Normalization is also applied to the contours to allow comparisons independent of differences in musical key. In a “fine search” stage, a “segmental” dynamic time warping (DTW) method is applied that calculates a more accurate similarity score between the query and each candidate target with more explicit consideration toward rhythmic inconsistencies.

  • Patent number: 8044291
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for selection of visually displayed audio data are provided. In one implementation, a computer-implemented method is provided. Original audio data is displayed in a plurality of visual forms. A first input is received selecting a region within a first visual representation of the original audio data. A second input is received selecting a region within a second visual representation of the original audio data. Audio components from the selected regions are isolated to provide isolated audio data. The isolated audio data corresponds to audio data common to both user selected regions. The isolated audio data is edited and then missed into the original audio data.

  • Patent number: 8035024
Abstract: This invention provides a signal processing and signal synthesis technique from a family of signal processing and signal synthesis techniques designed to readily interwork or be used individually in creating new forms of rich musical timbres. Phase staggered multi-channel signal panning creates spatial perturbation and chase effects for subtle or dramatic application, and may be swept with control signals from a low-frequency oscillator, transient envelope, or other source. Phase-staggering and modulation parameters may be recalled from stored program control or modulated in real-time by arbitrary control signals, including those derived from the original input signal. The invention may be used individually or in conjunction with other signal processing and signal synthesis techniques in creating new forms of rich musical timbres. The invention may also be used in spatially-distributed timbre construction.

  • Patent number: 8030565
Abstract: This invention provides a signal processing and signal synthesis technique from a family of signal processing and signal synthesis techniques designed to readily interwork or be used individually in creating new forms of rich musical timbres. A plurality of audio signal delays, each with high resonance positive feedback, distortion characteristics, and selectable delay times corresponding to a desired resonant frequency, provide twang and resonance synthesis for moments of sparkle or vibrantly-responsive ongoing backdrops. The selectable delay times may match a musical scale or other resonant frequency distribution. Delay, feedback, and signal processing characteristics and parameters may be recalled from stored program control or modulated in real-time by arbitrary control signals, including those derived from the original input signal. The invention may be used individually or in conjunction with other signal processing and signal synthesis techniques in creating new forms of rich musical timbres.

  • Patent number: 8022287
Abstract: An apparatus that allows a musical piece to be recomposed by reflecting, for example, the mood, preference, and ambient environment of a listening user in the musical piece in real time. The apparatus includes a rhythm master unit and a rhythm slave unit. The rhythm master unit generates synchronization signals containing a signal having a period corresponding to a measure of a musical piece and a signal having a period corresponding to a beat of the musical piece and also generates musical-piece recomposition information in synchronization with the synchronization signals. The rhythm slave unit recomposes musical-piece data of input music content in accordance with the synchronization signals and the musical-piece recomposition information, generates output musical-piece data, and outputs the musical-piece data to the rhythm slave unit.
