  • Patent number: 6904998
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method to ensure the steerability of an industrial truck that has a hydraulic steering system. The invention includes at least one gas generation cartridge (8) and a device (16) to activate the generation of the gas. The invention teaches that energy is available in an emergency for the hydraulic circuit of a hydraulic steering system. On the side of the gas generation cartridge (8), when there is a need to supply energy to the hydraulic circuit, pressure is increased which can then be transmitted to the hydraulic medium. The invention makes available an advantageous emergency power supply system for a hydraulic steering system of an industrial truck.

  • Patent number: 6425848
Abstract: A low thermal inertia die (10) must be heated to a specific set temperature to cut/seal plastics material. As heat energy is dissipated during cutting/sealing it is replaced by an equivalent amount of thermal energy from an electrical heating element (26) embedded in the die, adjacent the profiled working face (22) which in use contacts plastics material. The element (26) is covered in electrically non-conductive tape (28) and encased in flattened steel tube (30). A thermocouple (32) is also embedded in the die (10), with its tip (34) located to sense the temperature of a central region of the working face (22). The electrical current supplied to the electrical resistance heating element (26) is controlled in dependence upon the temperature sensed.

  • Patent number: 6116002
Abstract: A round baler has a guiding device for guiding baling material around the press- or idler rolls. The guiding device includes an elastic piece of material and a generally inelastic but form-flexible piece of material; so that on the one hand a high elasticity of the guiding device is achieved and on the other hand high endurance of the form-flexible material is achieved.
