  • Patent number: 7433678
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a system for rapidly establishing a communication, particularly a Bluetooth type communication, between at least one reader and a plurality of communicating objects. Each communicating object and said reader have a communication protocol. Each communicating object has a communication address. The method comprises: the step of defining a unique communication address for all of the communicating objects; the step, for said reader, of determining whether at least one communicating object is present in the environment in which said reader is located, by sending a request to the unique communication address of all the communicating objects; the step, for each communicating object that receives said request, of revealing its presence to said reader by sending a response signal that is time-shifted relative to the response signals sent by the other communicating objects.

  • Patent number: 7433661
Abstract: A method of transmitting information over a feed back channel of a communication system that has multiple antenna systems is provided. Long term channel condition information is obtained from received measured and/or calculated channel parameter values. The obtained long term channel condition information is arranged in a particular manner and transmitted over a defined time period during which the long term channel condition information varies relatively slowly. Because the long term information remains relatively constant for one or more defined time periods, the amount of bandwidth needed to communicate this value is small because it need only be communicated occasionally. Thus only a small bandwidth needs to be allocated for transmitting this long term information.

  • Patent number: 7430429
Abstract: To assist an operator to position a wireless camera so that a base station receives with good quality a radiofrequency signal transmitted from a transmitter linked to the camera, several measurers linked to diversity receivers of the signal each determine whether a characteristic of the signal via the respective receiver satisfies a reception criterion. In the base station, a counter counts the receivers satisfying the reception criterion, and a divider establishes a reception quality indicator dependent on the number of satisfactory receivers so as in particular to retransmit it via a return channel to the camera so that it can be displayed thereon.

  • Patent number: 7430443
Abstract: In the upper enclosure, a CPU for application and a memory for application as well as an application device are mounted. In the lower enclosure, a CPU for communication and a memory for communication as well as a transmission/reception circuit are mounted. In such a configuration, the data transfer for application processing is executed mainly in the upper enclosure. Thus, the quantity of data passing through the folding portion from/to the lower enclosure for the application processing is reduced. The wire harness is simplified and power consumption is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7430400
Abstract: A system and method for preventing a wireless controller system and WiFi radio system within a console from interfering with each other. The WiFi system is prevented from activating its transmitter during the controller receive times by detecting a signal sent to the WiFi module indicating where the controller receive times occur. Based upon the state of the signal, the WiFi transmission algorithm can determine the appropriate times to turn on and off the WiFi transmitter in concert with the defined 802.11 media access protocol. Furthermore, the WiFi module provides its operating channel information to the controller radio system to avoid using the WiFi channel for any communications.
