  • Patent number: 12375920
Abstract: In one embodiment, a router includes one or more processors and one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media coupled to the one or more processors. The one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media include instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the router to perform operations including receiving software-defined networking in a wide area network (SD-WAN) policies from a component of an SD-WAN network. The operations also include establishing a session with a mobile device and receiving information associated with the mobile device in response to establishing the session with the mobile device. The operations further include filtering the SD-WAN policies based on the information associated with the mobile device to generate SD-WAN device-specific policies and communicating the SD-WAN device-specific policies to the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 12369047
Abstract: A method for user association, i.e., user equipment-base station, UE-BS, association, in a cellular network is specifically designed for user association, for instance in 5G mmWave cellular networks. The method is based on the rational that network throughput may be low because of the weakest UE suffering from a weak direct link or high interference from other BSs in the network. Thus, swapping the worst UE-BS connection is likely to provide the UE a stronger link, i.e. a better connection to another BS, and/or reduce the interference, which consequently improves the throughput. An optional approach is based on matching theory, which uses preference lists maintained at the BSs and UEs.

  • Patent number: 12323860
Abstract: A service continuity implementation method, a related device, and a system, where when a user equipment is attached to a 2/3G network, a serving node device determines that the user equipment has a 5G capability or a user corresponding to the user equipment is a 5G user. Then, the serving node device selects a 5G gateway for the user equipment, and establishes a session with the 5G gateway. In this way, when the user equipment subsequently moves to a 5G network, the same 5G gateway serves the user equipment, and an address of the user may remain unchanged when the user equipment moves from the 2/3G network to the 5G network, thereby implementing service continuity of the user.

  • Patent number: 12279189
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for processing and reconciling data traffic utilization information from a variety of sources including client devices and service provider networks are described. The methods take into consideration that wireless devices tracking usage data may not accurately reflect the amount of usage measured by network devices. This may be because of overhead the client devices are not aware of or because different measurement techniques or accounting metrics are used by the service provider network. The methods and apparatus may and sometimes do take into consideration that while some client devices, e.g., android devices, may trach and report usage aid/or location information through the use of an application which provides such information to the network service provider, such information may not be readily available from other devices such Apple iOS devices. The described data tracking and location assignment methods are used in some embodiments to determine base station placement.
