  • Patent number: 7127727
Abstract: An optical disk drive includes a main body and a tray. A tray locking mechanism includes a base fixed to the tray, a locking device installed on the base for combining with or separating from a stop pin of the main body, a transmission device installed on the base for driving the locking device, and a control device installed on the base for stopping the transmission device. When the locking device combines with the stop pin of the main body, the tray can be locked to the main body, and when the transmission device drives the locking device to be separated from the stop pin of the main body, the tray can eject from the main body and the control device can stop the transmission device from rotating.

  • Patent number: 7102857
Abstract: A rotary head drum apparatus includes a stator drum. A rotary drum is provided with a plurality of magnetic heads and rotates the magnetic heads. The rotary drum is mounted for rotational movement with respect to the stator drum. A rotary transformer includes a stator-side rotary transformer provided on the stator drum and a rotating-side rotary transformer fixed to the rotary drum. The stator-side rotary transformer and the rotating-side rotary transformer are adapted to send and receive signals to each other. An adhesive providing gap is disposed between the rotating-side rotary transformer and the rotary drum for receiving an adhesive for bonding the rotating-side rotary transformer to the rotary drum. An adhesive splashing prevention part is provided on the rotating-side rotary transformer and receives adhesive splashing from the adhesive providing gap.

  • Patent number: 7103901
Abstract: A disc cartridge includes a cartridge body, first and second shutters, and a rotational member. The cartridge body includes a disc storage portion to store a disc in a rotatable state, a chucking hole provided on the bottom of the disc storage portion so as to get the disc chucked externally, and a head access window provided on the bottom of the disc storage portion so as to allow a head, which reads and/or writes data from/on the disc, to access the disc. The first and second shutters are provided so as to expose or cover the head access window by rotating in the disc storage portion. The rotational member is provided so as to rotate in the disc storage portion, too. The first and second shutters are interlocked with the rotational member so as to rotate in mutually opposite directions and at respectively different velocities.

  • Patent number: 7093271
Abstract: A disc drive according to the present invention is adapted to a disk cartridge including: a disk; a body to contain the disk; a window provided for the body to allow a data reading and/or writing head to access the disk; a shutter for opening or closing the window; and a rotational member including a gear as a part of its outer periphery and rotating to open or close the shutter. The drive includes a shutter driving mechanism for opening and closing the shutter by rotating the rotational member of the disk cartridge, and the shutter driving mechanism includes a driving gear, which engages with the gear of the rotational member and which turns around a first rotation shaft. The first rotation shaft swings around the center of rotation of the rotational member of the disk cartridge that is held on the holding portion.
