The easy-entry unit includes the seat back and the rear portion of the seat bottom and pivots about a pivot axis between an occupant use position and an access position. A cover assembly is coupled to the vehicle seat and expands and retracts between a stored configuration and a deployed configuration to limit access to an underside of the seat bottom whether the easy-entry unit is in the occupant use position, the access position, or an intermediate position. The vehicle seat can also be configured to slide along a seat support frame between forward and rearward positions.

    Abstract: Use of a laptop, tablet or other electronic device within a vehicle or other mode of transportation is often made difficult due to vibration, bumps and sudden turns. A vibration cancelling platform provides stabilization to an electronic device used during transportation. A platform may be comprised of a top housing and a bottom housing which may slide laterally relative to each other in order to stabilize a user's electronic device resting upon the top housing. Low friction sliding components such as rollers, bearing or other components help to reduce or prevent the environmental movement experienced by the bottom housing from being transmitted to the upper housing. Spring elements secured between the top and bottom housings further assist in reducing vibration and act to stabilize the top housing in a centralized position. Optional mouse pads extend from the platform by use of specially configured low friction sliding mechanisms.

The moveable leg subassembly, comprising two movable front legs each with support cups for receiving an anterior support crossbar of the collapsible work surface, is attached to the two stationary back legs by moveable leg hinges, which allow the two moveable front legs to fold inwardly. Once the legs clear the stationary work surface, the collapsible work surface may fold downward, resulting in the workstation being in a closed position. A stop bracket may be provided attached to the stationary base to inhibit the movable legs from pivoting beyond the position where the crossbar remains engaged in the support cups.

A leg assembly is mounted to each half and collapses independently of the other and is movable between an extended position and a stowed position. A locking hinge pivotally connects the halves and automatically disengages a locking feature of the hinge when one of the leg assemblies is pivoted. The hinge includes first and second hinge members. The second hinge member includes a pawl pin slot and a pawl pin, which slides in the slot between a first position and a second position. Rotation of the first hinge member with respect to the second hinge member is prevented in the first position and is permitted in the second position. A cable is mounted between the leg assembly and the pawl pin. Pivoting the leg assembly causes the pawl pin to be automatically moved from the first position to the second position.
