Patent number: 10400445Abstract: An acoustic seal for a sound flanking path between an an interior architectural separation and a mullion. The seal may be configured as an elongated rail having first and seal surfaces with adhesive elements disposed on laterally offset first and second adhesive-bearing portions thereof. When installed, the elongated rail can maintain a non-deformed state when opposing faces of the mullion and the architectural separation are separated by a distance equal to the elongated rail thickness. The elongated rail can assume a deformed state when the opposing faces of the mullion and the architectural separation are separated by a distance greater than the elongated rail thickness. In the deformed state, the longitudinal edges of the elongated rail become offset from each other in a direction normal to first and second seal surfaces. The elongated rail cross-section flexes proximate to first and second flex locations that may optionally include stress relief features.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2017Date of Patent: September 3, 2019Assignee: STC Architectural Products, LLCInventor: Paul L.
