Patent number: 12371960Abstract: A reaction is instigated in an energetic material with an initiator having a chassis assembly and a cartridge. The chassis assembly and cartridge are transportable separate from one another and assembled on site. The chassis assembly includes a tubular penetrator with a beveled sharpened tip and a bridge wire mounted within the penetrator. The cartridge includes a sleeve and an amount of explosive inside the sleeve. When the initiator is assembled the penetrator inserts inside the sleeve and puts the bridge wire into direct contact with the explosive. The bridge wire is in electrical communication with a current source, and when selectively energized creates an explosion in the explosive to launch the reaction in the energetic material.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2024Date of Patent: July 29, 2025Assignee: Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations LLCInventor: John W. Patent number: 12359531Abstract: A lubricator and plunger catcher used in conjunction with an oil or gas well includes a manifold positioned between the wellhead and the plunger catcher. The manifold includes a plunger passageway that extends from the bottom of the manifold to the top of the manifold, with the plunger catcher being mounted to the top of the manifold. The manifold also includes a production passageway through which oil or gas leaving the wellhead is routed. A choke mechanism for at least partially blocking the production passageway is provided on the manifold to selectively vary the volume of the oil or gas leaving the wellhead that is routed through the plunger catcher. This, in turn, can selectively vary a force imparted to a plunger by the oil or gas leaving the wellhead to ensure the plunger is fully seated in the catcher when it arrives at the wellhead.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2024Date of Patent: July 15, 2025Assignee: Flowco MasterCo LLCInventors: Garrett S. Patent number: 12359557Abstract: A selection of a hydrocarbon well of a hydrocarbon production system is received at a safety logic solver (SLS) for proof testing. Test mode pressure sensors attached to a common header of the hydrocarbon production system are activated to monitor a live process condition status of the common header from all wells of the hydrocarbon production system. A simulated overpressure condition is induced in the operation pressure sensors. An indication of overpressure is received at the SLS from at least two operation pressure sensors. Final elements associated with the hydrocarbon well are signaled to close while leaving other wells in the hydrocarbon production system in operation. The operation pressure sensors are restored to a normal pressure condition, and the final elements associated with the selected hydrocarbon well are signaled to re-open the hydrocarbon well.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2022Date of Patent: July 15, 2025Assignee: Saudi Arabian Oil CompanyInventors: Pedro Alejandro Mujica, Kiran Patel, Chan Eldon Miller, Herman Roberto Cipriano

Patent number: 12352126Abstract: A seal arrangement includes a seal assembly and a seal subassembly in operable contact with the seal assembly. The seal subassembly is configured to impart energy to the seal assembly to promote sealing of the seal assembly with a mating surface. A non-sealing feature of the seal subassembly depends from the seal subassembly and is interactive with a load shoulder of a structure adjacent the seal subassembly. The seal arrangement redirects a mechanical load path through the seal subassembly to the non-sealing feature, during use. A method of protecting a seal subassembly from reverse loading is by redirecting a load path through a seal subassembly to a non-sealing feature, while also permitting pressure energizing of the seal assembly by the seal subassembly in a sealing direction. A downhole system includes a borehole in a formation, a string in the borehole, and a seal.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2024Date of Patent: July 8, 2025Assignee: Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations LLCInventor: Wade Miller

Patent number: 12338702Abstract: A unitized wellhead assembly includes a lower wellhead housing and an upper wellhead housing interconnected by internal and external threads and pressure sealed via a housing seal that creates a unitized body. The unitized wellhead assembly accepts casing and tubing hanger assemblies containing a plurality of individual retainer segments that engage mating grooves in the unitized body and also retains the casing and tubing hangers in place while containing the wellbore pressure. By eliminating the porting for external actuation devices that pass through the wall section of a wellhead housing, the potential for accidental release of wellbore gasses or fluids to the atmosphere and creation of a potentially hazardous or deadly situation is eliminated. Additionally, the configuration of the segmented retainers reduces high stresses when the retainers are forced outward and eliminates the potential to yield a retainer ring beyond the point of being able to return to its original shape.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2023Date of Patent: June 24, 2025Inventor: Doyle W. Patent number: 12338730Abstract: System for anchoring and orienting a tool at a targeted depth and recording its angular position comprises a casing assembly including coupling joints; a position pilot joint having an anchor sleeve, guide block and spline teeth, the guide block and spline teeth resiliently supported to retract into and extend out of the sleeve. The spline teeth are attached to a synchronizing mechanism for maintaining the spline teeth in a retracted position until each spline tooth is aligned with corresponding coupling joint's recesses. As the guide block travels along the angled ramp of a coupling joint and enters the guiding slot, the position pilot and stabilizer joints correspondingly rotate. When the position pilot joint passes through its corresponding coupling joint, the spline teeth extend out of the anchor sleeve to engage the recesses. An azimuth joint is configured to record the angular orientation of the tool once the tool is anchored.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2024Date of Patent: June 24, 2025Assignee: Bright Fast International LimitedInventors: Paul Kwong Shun Cheung, Dingyu Guo
