Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for facilitating a cooperative shopping session. A mobile computing device establishes a session with a remote computing device. Product data is displayed by the mobile computing device in association with the session. The product data is shared with the remote computing device in association with the session. The mobile computing device receives an indication of a user interaction with the product data at the remote computing device. The mobile computing device displays the user interaction with the product data in conjunction with the product data and in association with the session.

Abstract: A framework for a machine-to-machine (M2M) application development is disclosed. The framework enables users to login and affect devices and applications that may interact with the devices by enabling M2M applications. The framework enables M2M application creation, management, and development of various profiled devices based on pre-defined data models associated with corresponding devices. Furthermore, the framework enables marketplace options to permit users to specify purchase options as well as to buy devices and applications.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method is disclosed herein. The method includes the step of positioning at least one location marker at a position in a retail store. The method also includes the step of receiving, with a processing device of a position detection server, a video signal from an electronic device possessed by a consumer as the consumer shops in the retail store. At least one image frame of the video signal contains the at least one location marker. The method also includes the step of determining, with the processing device, a location of the consumer within the retail store in response to the receiving step.

Abstract: Mathematical models and a state vector may be used to respond to a customer and perform actions for the customer, such as transmitting an API request to a server to update the customer's address. The mathematical models may include a message encoding model to generate a representation of a message received from a customer, a message generation model to generate a message to transmit to a customer, an API request model to generate an API request to transmit to a server, an API response encoding model to generate a representation of an API response, a state update model to update the state vector using another model output, and an action model to select an action to be performed. A mathematical model may process the state vector in determining an output, and an output of the mathematical model may also be used to update the state vector.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for purchasing, accessing, consuming, and/or providing electronic content using an electronic bookshelf (eBookshelf) system. The eBookshelf system can be used by accessing a touchscreen-based user interface and/or local hardware controls and/or a remote control. A user's personal library of eBooks and/or any other electronic content can be displayed and/or aurally presented. In addition, the vast content of commercial retailers can also be displayed for browsing and purchase/rental. If the user identifies a content selection on the eBookshelf system that he/she wishes to consume, it can be readily transferred from the system to a personal content consuming device. Multiple eBookshelf systems can be attached to one another to extend the length and/or height of the eBookshelf. Accessing the eBookshelf system by a user ID allows multiple users to enjoy a personally customized version of the system.

Abstract: A multi-tenant virtual machine infrastructure (MTVMI) allows multiple tenants to independently access and use a plurality of virtual computing resources via the Internet. Within the MTVMI, different tenants may define unique configurations of virtual computing resources and unique rules to govern the use of the virtual computing resources. The MTVMI may be configured to provide valuable services for tenants and users associated with the tenants.

Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating a purchase are described. A user logs in to a payment service provider site. The user provides authorization to use a one-page checkout service. The user's information is captured during the session, and a cookie is placed on the user's device. When the user goes on a merchant website and checks out using the payment service provider, the payment service provider detects the cookie on the user device. The payment service provider uses the cookie, and in one embodiment, centrally stored information, to populate the one-page checkout page with the last used payment. In various embodiments, the one-page checkout page also displays a shipping address.

Abstract: A user and a merchant register an account with a payment processing system and each receive a unique identifier. When the registered user enters a search query for a product, the search engine system locates a product that matches the search query and that is associated with a registered merchant. The search engine system then confirms that the user and the merchant are registered, and creates a unique product identifier for the product. After associating the unique product identifier with the product, the search engine presents the product to the user with a direct purchase option. If the user selects a direct purchase option, the search engine system communicates with the payment processing system and merchant system to facilitate and verify the purchase transaction. The merchant then provides the product to the user.

Abstract: Methods and systems for facilitating online transactions are disclosed. One method includes supplying content for display in a frame of a website, the website hosted by a third-party. The method also includes receiving transaction information from the third-party, and returning a token to the frame, the token including state information based on the transaction information. The method further includes passing the token from the frame to the third-party. The method optionally also includes receiving the token from the third-party and transferring funds from a first account to a second account based on the transaction information and the state information.

Abstract: A user conducts activities, such as researching a product online or visiting a store that sells the product. A user then utilizes a risk analysis system to receive and store user activity data for the user's activities. When a purchase attempt is made with the user's financial account, a merchant sends a transaction request to the risk analysis system. The risk analysis system locates a record for the user and determines whether the product is identified in the user activity data. If the product is identified, the risk analysis system provides a risk score to the merchant indicating that the transaction is unlikely fraudulent. Alternatively, identification of the product provides a positive factor among multiple factors considered in a transaction risk analysis. An absence of the product in the activity can be used as a neutral or negative factor among multiple factors considered in a risk analysis of the transaction.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for a search result suppression application. A search result suppression application selects items from an electronic catalog. Suppression rules are selected and applied to the selected items. Items which meet conditions defined in the suppression rules are excluded from search results responsive to search queries subsequently applied to the electronic catalog.

Abstract: Systems and methods for e-commerce personalization and merchandising are provided herein. In some instances, methods may include determining triggers for a consumer, where the triggers being associated with objective consumer preferences and subjective consumer preferences for the consumer. Also, the method includes selecting a ranking cocktail for the consumer that includes a plurality of attributes that each includes a weight. The method also includes utilizing the ranking cocktail to select recommended products from an inventory of products in a database of a merchant, and providing the recommended products for display to the consumer.

Abstract: An approach is provided that authenticates, at an on-line distributor, an end user that has connected to the distributor over a communications network. One or more sets of rules are sent from the distributor to one or more vendor sites. The distributor receives vendor product data pertaining to the vendor sites. The vendor product data received from the vendor sites is based on the sets of rules sent to the respective vendors. A product request is received at the distributor from the authenticated end user. The vendor product data received at the distributor is queried using a query that is based on the product request with the query resulting in a search result that is returned to the end user.

Abstract: A tag store system and method for making contactless tags available to end users of tag-related software applications is described. The system and method employs an identifier for a tag ordering interface, which is generated using tag framework data for a contactless tag associated with a tag-related software application. The tag ordering interface allows the contactless tag to be ordered using the tag ordering interface. The identifier is included in the tag-related software application and is used to request for the tag ordering interface from an end user device running the tag-related software application.

Abstract: A system and method for displaying items for bid at a silent auction including, a display device, having at least one display face, for exhibiting a panel having advertising indicia relating to an item offered for bid at the silent auction, and a code on the panel that corresponds to the item offered for bid, such that the code may be entered by a bidder at a remote location relative to the display device for bidding on the item. The access management unit is designed to authorize the request according to the access rights record of the end user.
