    Abstract: A method for driving a display device includes operating an input sensing part in a direct sensing mode. The input sensing part includes first sensing electrodes connected to transmission lines and second sensing electrodes connected to the sensing lines. The input sensing part operates in a noise sensing mode and proximity sensing mode when a call mode is performed. The proximity sensing mode includes generation of a proximity sensing signal concerning proximity of a user to the display device. Noise sensed in the noise sensing mode is removed from the proximity sensing signal when the proximity sensing signal indicates the user is proximate. At least one of a voltage level of a drive signal, a number of simultaneous transmission lines to which the drive signal is simultaneously applied, or a frequency of the drive signal is differently set in the noise sensing mode as compared to the proximity sensing mode.
