  • Patent number: 10129181
Abstract: Software-Defined Networking (“SDN”) enables flexible flow control by caching policy rules at OpenFlow switches. Compared with exact-match rule caching, wildcard rule caching can better preserve the flow table space at switches. However, one of the challenges for wildcard rule caching is the dependency between rules, which is generated by caching wildcard rules overlapped in field space with different priorities. Failure to handle the rule dependency may lead to wrong matching decisions for newly arrived flows, or may introduce high storage overhead in flow table memory. A wildcard rule caching system, which may be used for SDN partitions the field space into logical structures called buckets, and caches buckets along with all the associated wildcard rules. Doing so resolves rule dependency while using control network bandwidth efficiently. Further, controller processing load and flow setup latency are reduced.

  • Patent number: 10103837
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing asynchronous feedback training sequences are described. A transmitter transmits a training sequence indication to a receiver via a communication channel including a plurality of data lines. The training sequence indication includes a bit sequence to indicate the beginning of a training sequence. The indication includes a transition from a zero to a one at the midpoint of a supercycle of ‘N’ clock cycles in length, followed by a predetermined number of ones. The training sequence indication is then followed by a test pattern. The beginning of the test pattern occurs at the end of a supercycle. The receiver determines if there are any errors in the received test pattern, and then sends feedback to the transmitter that indicates whether any errors were detected. Responsive to receiving the feedback, the transmitter alters delay settings for one or more of the data lines.

  • Patent number: 10085266
Abstract: According to aspects of the present disclosure, a method and system are provided for wireless communication between a user equipment device (UE) and a base station using carrier aggregation and transmission time internal (TTI) bundling. The base station serves the UE with carrier aggregation on multiple carriers and determines, per carrier, a respective bundling size for transmitting a wireless communication between the UE and the base station with transmission TTI bundling on that component carrier. The determined bundling size for at least one of the plurality of component carriers is different than the determined bundling size for another one of the plurality of component carriers. While serving the UE with carrier aggregation on the multiple carriers, the base station invokes TTI bundling to transmit the wireless communication between the UE and the base station on each carrier with the respectively determined bundling size for that component carrier.

  • Patent number: 10051090
Abstract: Methods and devices for encoding or decoding messages, each message including a list of information items. The encoding method comprises determining a first list of indexes associated with information items that are already indexed in a local indexing table and a second list of literal values of other information items not yet indexed in said indexing table; encoding the indexes of the first list; binary compressing at least a serialized binary representation of the literal values of the second list; and concatenating the first list and the second list together to obtain an encoded bitstream of the information items. When the messages are sent over a plurality of connections, a global table is shared between the connections to store the indexed items of information; and a local indexing table for each connection associates indexes with references to an entry of the shared global table.

  • Patent number: 10003486
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) communication are discussed. An example Evolved NodeB (eNB) includes a memory, a processor, and a transmitter circuit. The processor evaluates an orthogonal multiple access (OMA) metric and a NOMA metric, generates a protocol instruction that indicates an OMA transmission or a NOMA transmission based on the metrics, and determines a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for a first UE and a second MCS for a second UE. The transmitter circuit receives the protocol instruction and transmits a first data signal and a first downlink control information (DCI) message associated with the first UE, and a second data signal and a second DCI message associated with the second UE. When the protocol instruction indicates NOMA transmission, the data signals are power multiplexed, the DCI messages indicate the data signals are transmitted via NOMA, and the first DCI message indicates the second MCS.

  • Patent number: 9930706
Abstract: The present invention provides definition of an identifier which is required for recognizing information essential for device to device communication, a transmission method thereof, and devices that support the same. The method for supporting device to device (D2D) communication in a wireless access system that supports D2D communication as one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of allowing a first D2D device to receive, from a base station, a broadcast message which contains a common D2D identifier (C-D2D-RNTI) for all D2D devices that perform D2D communication; and allowing the first D2D device to receive the transmitted D2D-related information by using the C-D2D-RNTI. In this situation, the wireless access system can support both D2D communication and cellular communication for a normal terminal instead of the D2D device.

  • Patent number: 9692705
Abstract: Overlapping flow rules are included in a ternary content addressable memory (TCAM), while still enabling a hardware counter to increment each of the overlapping rules when a packet matching each of the overlapping rules is transmitted through the TCAM. In a given set of flow specifications, a first flow specification is identified that overlaps with a second flow specification. Rules are determined corresponding to the first flow specification, the second flow specification, and an intersection of the first and second flow specifications. Priorities are assigned to each of the rules, wherein the rule corresponding to the intersection is assigned a higher priority than the rules corresponding to the first and second flow specifications. Such rules are stored in the TCAM.

  • Patent number: 9614767
Abstract: Each ECU transmits a frame to a frame generator. Then, the frame generator decomposes data contained in the received frame and then stores the data into a buffer memory, for each message type. The frame generator generates a message containing data to be transmitted to each ECU, and then transmits the message. Based on the state of a signal indicating the electric power supply status, the frame generator controls the permission or non-permission of transmission processing such that frame transmission is not performed to the ECU to which electric power supply from an electric power supply control device. When any communication part has received an abnormal frame, the frame generator does not include data contained in frames received afterward by the communication part, into a frame generated for other communication parts.
