  • Patent number: 11070767
Abstract: A video conferencing and law enforcement corroboration system. A video feed is established between actors including a law enforcement officer and a perpetrator, thereby forming a remote, real time communication between the two. Greetings are remotely exchanged, which can be pre-scripted such that the perpetrator may remotely ask for a reason for a stop using impartial, prompted language, to thereby objectivize initial contact. The officer is prompted to invite participation by a corroborating third party, wherein a two-way, real-time communication of a video feed can generate conference information. The identity of the perpetrator, a driver document and a vehicle search can occur remotely via a real time communication, wherein an interaction between a law enforcement officer and a perpetrator is documented without physical conflict and without exposing a perpetrator and a law enforcement officer to physical harm and violence.

  • Patent number: 11050973
Abstract: The disclosed techniques improve user engagement and promote efficient use of computing resources by providing dynamically controlled aspect ratios for communication session renderings based on a physical orientation of a device. In some configurations, a system can select a first aspect ratio for individual video streams of a communication session when a device is in a first orientation, e.g., a portrait orientation. In addition, the system can select a second aspect ratio for the individual video streams when the device is in a second orientation, e.g., a landscape orientation. In some configurations, the first aspect ratio can be greater than the second aspect ratio, or the aspect ratios can be selected based on a target aspect ratio, which can be adjusted over time. By dynamically selecting an aspect ratio for individual stream renderings, screen space of a device can be optimized while the device is held in various physical orientations.

  • Patent number: 11038899
Abstract: Presented herein are methods for dynamic management of names and of named-based requests for media flows in an Information-Centric Network (ICN)-based real-time communication system. The use of different naming schemes on contribution segments and on distribution segments in such architectures results in an effective low latency and scalable communication model based on the notion of active speakers regardless of the underlying mapping between active speakers and participants controlled by the media bridge. Operations are performed both at client side and at media bridge side to dynamically manage binding of names to speakers, while minimizing overhead and complexity of operations involved by a change of active speaker/quality/layout.

  • Patent number: 11032515
Abstract: Embodiments include a computer program product for using a biosensor worn by a user to trigger an event and activate a camera worn by the user to begin streaming and/or recording video data. The biosensor trigger also initiates a real time multimedia collaboration session with the user wearing the biosensor and one or more designated parties. Through an interoperability gateway device, a voice communications device of the user is bridged with voice communications devices of the designated parties, and the video data is electronically transmitted to the designated parties. Thus, the designated parties may have real time voice communications among each other and with the user, and the designated parties may also view the video data in real time. Embodiments also determine when an event has ended and deactivates the camera worn by the user.
