  • Patent number: 11838160
Abstract: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex and Non-Coherent Demodulation A method includes obtaining a reference signal waveform which is defined in accordance with a non-coherent modulation scheme. The method also includes shaping the reference signal waveform to obtain at least one signal waveform associated with one or more subcarriers of a plurality of subcarriers. The method also includes inputting the at least one signal waveform to at least one corresponding channel of a multi-channel orthogonal frequency division multiplex, OFDM, modulator. The method further includes transmitting an OFDM symbol output by the OFDM modulator. Said shaping approximates a baseband representation of a part of the OFDM symbol associated with the one or more subcarriers to the reference signal waveform. • Patent number: 11817981
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing carrier frequencies for wireless communications in wireless local area networks (WLANs). Some implementations more specifically relate to packet designs and numerologies that support wireless communications on carrier frequencies above 7 GHz. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may up-clock a physical layer (PHY) convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) for transmission on carrier frequencies above 7 GHz, where the PPDU conforms to an existing PPDU format associated with carrier frequencies below 7 GHz. As used herein, the term “up-clocking” refers to increasing the frequency of a clock signal used to convert the PPDU between the frequency domain and the time domain. In some aspects, the up-clocking may result in a subcarrier spacing (SCS) greater than or equal to 1.2 MHz, where the SCS represents a spacing between the subcarriers on which a PHY preamble of the PPDU is modulated.

  • Patent number: 11811570
Abstract: Sounding reference signals (SRS) transmitted by a UE, e.g., for positioning or channel estimation, may be configured for one or both of frequency tone level cyclic shift and symbol level code, which, for example, enables multiplexing a greater number of UEs. The frequency tone level cyclic shift is produced by jointly processing a number of symbols with an extended cyclic shift structure. The SRS may be configured using a symbol group level that indicates the number of symbols associated with a cyclic shift structure, and an outer code that indicates a multiplier applied to the SRS at the symbol level, which increases the multiplexing opportunities. The symbol level code may further indicate an extended cyclic shift indicating a linear increase in phase rotation across tones in symbols associated with the symbol group level.

  • Patent number: 11784918
Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling communication in a downhole power and communications system installed in a well, where one or more components of a wired backbone of the system have failed. Equipment positioned at the surface of a well is connected to a wired power and communication backbone that has one or more conductors and one or more nodes with standardized interfaces that enable downhole devices to be interchangeably connected to the wired backbone. When the wired backbone has failed at one or more points, preventing wired communications between the surface equipment and one or more downhole devices installed at the nodes, one or more wireless-enabled modules are installed at corresponding nodes of the wired backbone to establish wireless channels that bridge the failed portion of the wired backbone and thereby enable communication between the surface equipment and the downhole devices.
