  • Patent number: 7527179
Abstract: The present invention is a container lid assembly that includes an integral pump. A main feature of the present invention is a pump configuration that activates the reciprocating linear motion of the piston portion of the pump by the rotational movement of a pump actuating element that is interconnected to the piston portion. The pump configuration of the present invention may be configured so as to create at least a partial vacuum within the container. Alternatively, the pump configuration may be configured so as to pressurize the interior volume of the container. The lid consists of two major pieces, a seat portion that includes the pump cylinder, and a rotatable piston portion that includes the pump piston and the interconnected piston actuating element section. In preferred embodiments of the present invention, the pump piston and the piston actuating element section are integrally formed.

  • Patent number: 7516872
Abstract: An applicator/dispenser for dispensing, mixing and/or applying a polymerizable monomeric adhesive or sealant material comprises: a body portion; an actuator movable relative to the body portion; a cavity in the body portion; and a piercing or breaking portion on the actuator. Movement of the actuator relative to the body portion moves the piercing or breaking portion into the cavity. When a container of adhesive or sealant material is at least partially disposed within the cavity, movement of the actuator relative to the body portion moves the piercing or breaking portion to rupture the container for mixing, dispensing and/or applying the adhesive or sealant material.

  • Patent number: 7513392
Abstract: A fluid capture apparatus comprises a fluid-receiving body, a drain member, a generally flat support body and a fluid-channeling extension body. The fluid-receiving body has an open end and a bottom end. A fluid reservoir is defined between the open end and the bottom end. The drain member is attached to the fluid receiving body and communicative with the fluid reservoir for enabling fluid within the fluid reservoir to pass through the drain member. The fluid-channeling extension body has a first end thereof attached to the support body and a second end thereof attached to the fluid-receiving body. The fluid-channeling extension body includes a front face and spaced apart fluid guide members. The spaced apart fluid guide members protrude above the front face and extend at least partially between the support body and the fluid-receiving body thereby providing means for channeling fluid into the fluid reservoir of the fluid-receiving body.

  • Patent number: 7513395
Abstract: A valve includes a body; a liquid flow passage defined in the body and including a liquid inlet and a liquid outlet; a vent passage defined in the body and including an air inlet and an air outlet; a valve seat defined in the liquid flow passage; a liquid seal located adjacent the valve seat; a stem connected to the liquid seal and extending in the liquid flow passage away from the liquid seal through an aperture defined in the body. The stem includes a distal end located external to the body. The stem is movable to and from a first position where the liquid seal is mated with the valve seat and a second position where the liquid seal is unseated from the valve seat. An actuator is connected to the distal end of the stem. The actuator is selectively movable to move the stem from the first position to the second position. A check-valve is adapted to block flow of liquid from the air outlet to the air inlet in the vent passage, and to allow flow of air from the air inlet to the air outlet in said vent passage.

  • Patent number: 7503467
Abstract: A rotary-linear system is configured to operate an associated tool. The system includes a rotary-linear actuator having first and second portions that can move linearly and/or rotationally relative to each other, such as about a central axis extending through the actuator. An elongated drive rod extends axially through at least a portion of the actuator, which is operative to rotate about a longitudinal axis thereof generally independently of the actuator. While the rotation of the drive rod can be independent of movement of the actuator, such rotation can be controlled based on the position and/or movement of the actuator. An end of the drive rod near a distal end of the actuator is operative to actuate an associated tool, such as can be mounted at a distal end of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 7472882
Abstract: The present invention provides a faucet for tapping a liquid stored under pressure of a gas in a container that has less moving parts subject to wear or breakage, and has a housing made of multiple parts which can be disassembled so the faucet mechanism can be easily cleaned, repaired, or replaced. The faucet mechanism contains a piece of flexible tubing and an arrangement of a pinch roller valve mechanism that compresses the flexible tubing to shut off flow of liquid through the tubing. In one arrangement of the present invention, since the housing does not move and does not come in contact with the beverage being poured, the housing is made of a non-metallic material, such as a plastic or petroleum-based material, which is less expensive than the previous brass or stainless steel housing.

  • Patent number: 7467731
Abstract: A holder for enabling a user to hold and to dispense a pressure-flowable product, such as ice-cream or other relatively soft food product. The holder includes a housing having an internal compartment for the pressure-flowable product. One end of the housing is formed with one or more dispensing openings for dispensing the product. The holder is constructed such that the volume of the compartment may be progressively decreased by the user to progressively force the product within the compartment through the dispensing opening of the housing for consumption by the user. In many described preferred embodiments, the housing is shaped like a toy figure making the holder particularly attractive to children.

  • Patent number: 7467908
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a cost effective instrument for storing a fluid material, and applying a predetermined amount of the fluid material to a surface. The instrument is comprised of few parts including an outer casing and a fluid insert, making the instrument cheaper to manufacture, and easy to assemble. The embodiments disclosed can be provided in a pre-assembled form to cosmetic companies and the like seeking to fill a dispenser with their fluid cosmetic products. The ability to provide dispensers in a pre-assembled form, combined with the compatibility of the fluid dispensers with industrial high speed filling machines, reduces the overall filling costs to the cosmetic company, as well as the cost to the consumer.

  • Patent number: 7461762
Abstract: Certain pump dispensers, for example foam dispensers, are specially adapted for inverted use. One feature, especially useful in a foam dispenser having both an air cylinder and a liquid cylinder with respective pistons is an intake conduit arrangement to increase the clearance of liquid from the container. An intermediate shell fits over the upright liquid cylinder body and carries an inlet valve positively urged upwardly to the closed position to prevent leaking. A conduit shell fits over the intermediate shell and creates an intake conduit extending down the side of the liquid cylinder to an intake opening lower down the pump body.
