  • Patent number: 9381556
Abstract: A roller for a rolling mill with a casing, a left half pivot, and a right half pivot. The half pivots in the region surrounded by the casing are constructed as a truncated cone and form a left surface on the left half pivot and a right surface on the right half pivot. The left half pivot and the right half pivot have boreholes and corresponding grooves formed on the surfaces. The half pivots are inserted in the casing and are braced with one another by at least one tie rod. An hydraulic oil in boreholes and grooves is passed into or onto the left half pivot and the right half pivot. The hydraulic oil exerts a pressure on the casing to expand the casing. With the casing expanded, the stop surfaces and the face surfaces of the casing are pressed onto one another by the tie rod.

Abstract: A method and system for cooling an internal space are provided. A laminate of a hydrophobic membrane and a hydrophilic membrane includes a superabsorbent polymer disposed on or encompassing the hydrophilic membrane. The superabsorbent polymer increases the wicking capacity of the hydrophilic membrane so that water from a source is distributed more rapidly across the hydrophilic membrane. The distributed water is evaporated from the hydrophilic membrane, causing evaporative cooling of the laminate and surrounding air stream(s). The cooled air stream(s) are used to cool the internal space.

  • Patent number: 9322579
Abstract: A magneto-caloric effect type heat pump apparatus provides a thermo-magnetic cycle apparatus. A magnetic field modulating device has a rotary permanent magnet. By rotating the permanent magnet, magnetic field applied to a magneto-caloric element is modulated alternatively in a magnetized state and a demagnetized state. A magnetized period, when the magnetic field is applied, is shorter than a demagnetized period, when the magnetic field is removed. Thereby, it is possible to reduce weight of the magnetic field modulating device having the permanent magnet. The magneto-caloric element has a heat exchange portion which varies heat exchanging efficiency depending on flow directions of a heat transport medium. The heat exchanging efficiency in the magnetized period is higher than the heat exchanging efficiency in the demagnetized period. Therefore, it is possible to provide sufficient heat exchanging quantity even in a short magnetized period.
