  • Dextrin carboxylates and their use as detergent builders

    Abstract: A dextrin carboxylate comprising a dextrinized starch of about 20 to about 100 anhydroglucose units wherein from about 2.2 to about 2.8, preferably about 2.6 average OH groups per anhydroglucose unit are esterified through one of the carboxyls of a non-aromatic polycarboxylic acid of 2-4 carboxyls containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms. The products are effective biodegradable detergent builders.
