A link is configured to connect the trailer frame and booster frame and is selectively operable between a locked condition in which upward pivotal movement of the booster frame relative to the trailer frame about the horizontal axis is limited and an unlocked condition in which the booster frame is allowed substantially free pivotal movement about the horizontal axis relative to the trailer frame.

The pair of bearings are arranged parallel to a rack shaft (10) at a predetermined interval on a device unit (1) which supports the rack shaft (10) in such a manner that the rack shaft (10) can reciprocate. A spherical portion (60) is formed on the end of the rack shaft (10) and swingably engaged in a connecting member (58) to interconnect the end of the rack shaft (10) and the connecting member (58). The end of the auxiliary shaft (36) is also fixed to the connecting member (58), and opposite tie rods (38) and (40) are connected to the auxiliary shaft (36) between a pair of bearings (32) and (34) via ball joints (42) and (44).

A first load transfer member is connected between the first wheel assembly and a second side member of the support frame, while a second load transfer member is connected between the second wheel assembly and the first side member of the support frame. During cornering, an upward load force applied to the outside, first wheel assembly is transferred through the first load transfer member to urge the second side member of the support frame downward relative to the first side member. At the same time, the upward load force is transferred from the first side member to the second wheel assembly to pivot the second wheel assembly downward.

    Abstract: A variable training resistance device for an in-line skate. The skate includes a boot and a plurality of wheels disposed on a chassis. A resistance assembly, including a cam and bearing assembly or a rack and pinion assembly, is disposed between two of the wheels on the chassis. The cam and bearing assembly includes a plurality of cam carrier blocks disposed along either side of the chassis, wherein one of the cam carrier blocks has a first cam axle fixedly disposed thereon. A cam lever having a second cam axle is rotatably mounted on the chassis, and a plurality of cams are rotatably disposed on the first and second cam axles. Bearings are rotatably disposed between the cams and can be adjusted vertically to contact and provide resistance to the wheels of the in-line skate. The resistance assembly also includes a microadjust assembly to vary the position of the bearings with respect to the wheels of the skate.

    Abstract: The airbag system includes in addition to conventional crash sensing apparatus seat sensors to gauge occupant mass, an occupant position sensor and a vehicle speed sensor. Desired initial restraining force is calculated from speed at impact and the occupant's mass, and an appropriate degree of inflation is effected. The occupant speed is continuously calculated from the position sensor signal and the vehicle speed. A target speed profile is established based on an estimated restraint period and the vehicle speed, and an airbag vent is varied to control the occupant speed to the target speed. The target speed profile is adjusted as a function of passenger compartment acceleration to account for vehicle speed variations and for vehicle crush.

    Abstract: A vehicle exhaust orientation assembly directs an extremely hot, forceful haust gas flow from a tank or other vehicle that is towing a trailer or the like. The assembly has a transition shroud affixed to the exterior of the vehicle over its exhaust portal. A drum is rotatably connected to the shroud by rollers on the drum which engage a track on the shroud. Several anchoring structures are mounted on the shroud about the drum. The structures can hold the drum in one of several rotational positions of the drum on the shroud. Flow directing fins in the drum are pivoted by a linkage which can engage a tab on the drum so as to lock the fins in a selected pivot position. Rotational force is imparted to the drum and fins by flanges obliquely attached to the fins so that the fins are spun by the exhaust flow from the tank.
