Abstract: There is disclosed a method of and a system for predicting text in an image using one or more constraints. The image is input to a machine learning algorithm (MLA). The MLA outputs a probability distribution. The probability distribution comprises a predicted probability for each of a plurality of pairs, where each pair comprises a class and a next state of the MLA. The states of the probability distribution are added to a set of states to be searched. States that are end states or that fail to satisfy at least one of the constraints are removed from the set of states to be searched. States of the set of states to be searched are input to the MLA. The search is repeated with new states output by the MLA. End states output by the MLA are output as output states that each comprise a sequence of characters.

Abstract: The image processing apparatus includes: a color conversion unit configured to convert an input color space of the document image data into a device-dependent color space specified by the plurality of color materials; and an output unit configured to output the document image data converted into the device-dependent color space, and the color conversion unit performs, in a case where the document image data includes a first kind of object and a second kind of object different from the first kind, the conversion by selectively applying a first color conversion method of converting data corresponding to the first kind of object into data represented in a first color space and a second color conversion method of converting data corresponding to the second kind of object into data represented in a second color space different from the first color space within one print job.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: an image former that prints a foil stamping image on a recording material in accordance with a job for printing the foil stamping image, the foil stamping image being a target to which foil is transferred in foil stamp printing; and a hardware processor that trims an image on a page identical to at least one page included in the job such that the image on the identical page does not overlap an image adjustment mark that is printed for adjusting an image to be overprinted, and causes the image former to print, together with the job, the identical page having the trimmed image.

Abstract: An image forming device that executes a preview display of an image to be printed, including: a projector; a panel display; a receiver that receives an instruction indicating whether or not to implement security in the preview display; and a controller that, when an instruction to implement security is not received, controls the projector to execute the preview display according to a first mode that represents the image to be printed at a display area equal to or larger than a defined size, and when an instruction to implement security is received, controls the projector and the panel display to execute the preview display according to a second mode that represents the image to be printed at a display area less than the defined size.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a memory, and a processor configured to: read a first image of a sheet in a state in which the sheet is held on a sheet holding unit, the sheet being a sheet on which an image has been formed; detect a symbol from the first image of the sheet which has been read, the symbol indicating an orientation of the first image; and, when the orientation of the first image indicated by the detected symbol is different from an orientation of a second image that is to be formed on the sheet, perform a correction process of matching the orientation of the first image with the orientation of the second image that is to be formed on the sheet, the orientation of the first image being indicated by the detected symbol.

Abstract: A color printing system includes a color management server and one or more printing devices. The color management server manages color printing resources among the printing devices. A test chart is printed at a printing device and used to capture calibration measurement data. Calibration settings are defined for the calibration measurement data. A tone reproduction curve (TRC) is generated based on the calibration measurement data and the calibration settings. The TRC is stored with the TRC settings and calibration measurement data to be used at a printing device. ICC profiles are shared between printing devices following a match calibration operation between the printing devices. An ICC profile is transferred from one printing device to another. If the ICC profile is updated, then the updated ICC profile is transferred to the matched printing device.
