  • Patent number: 8001903
Abstract: A tracer cylinder for use with a shotgun shell to provide an aiming and training aid for shotgun shooting sports, which also can be used for military and police applications. The tracer cylinder, which contains a liquid, is positioned in a shotgun shell above a disk-shaped piercing valve. The shell is loaded into a shotgun and fired. The forces of ignition cause the point on the piercing valve to puncture the bottom of the cylinder, and, when the cylinder is airborne, tracer liquid is released through the resulting opening by physical forces, creating a long-lasting mist or fog cloud that is visible to the shooter. The shooter is provided with a consistent and durable reference, allowing him or her to make effective corrections to his or her shooting technique. The tracer cylinder can be loaded into a shot holder, with or without shot pellets.

  • Patent number: 7992339
Abstract: A gun stores a bipod when not in use inside its fore-end. A gun rest such as a bipod, an aiming stick or tripod has a stored position where its legs are pushed into channels formed in the fore-end of the stock, approximately parallel to the major axis of the gun barrel, but which can be pulled out and pivoted into an in-use position when the user wishes to steady the barrel of the gun for greater accuracy in shooting. A bracket is mounted to the fore end of the stock to allow the legs of the bipod to be pulled clear of the channels and then rotated down. The legs may be telescoping to a preferred elevation once in the in-use position.

  • Patent number: 7971381
Abstract: The handgun safety apparatus provides a pair of loops, each of which wraps around a semiautomatic handgun so that the barrel/receiver, also sometimes referred to as the slide, and the trigger are prevented from operation. Even if a round is in the chamber of the handgun, the trigger cannot be operated. Further, the slide cannot operate to chamber a round, so the apparatus provides twofold safety. The apparatus is provided in a variety of sizes to fit a variety of handguns. Each of the loops has a rigid insert that provides rigidity. The inside of each loop is made of a material that will not mar the handgun in any way. The straps do not infringe upon the grip.

  • Patent number: 7954411
Abstract: A projector of multiple skewed light planes or sheets is located adjacent a vehicle to be protected and detectors are arranged to detect the penetration of the light sheets by an incoming object, with the time intervals between the piercing of the planes defining the path of the incoming object and its expected impact time. An array of bullet-firing barrels is arranged to project bullets in an iron curtain under control of a fire control module that fires a round in a barrel above the projected flight path such that the round impacts the nose of the object and disables it. It is thus the piercing of the skewed light sheets that provides information as to the impact point of the object as well as its time of arrival so that a round can be fired to intercept the object as it arrives at the iron curtain.

  • Patent number: 7950176
Abstract: A handheld multiple-charge weapon for remote impact on a target with an electric current includes a housing including a launch power supply, a power source, a voltage converter, and a high voltage generator and triggered by a firing element. A clip on the housing carries a plurality of unitary cartridges. Each of said cartridges carries an electrode for contact action on the target and delivering the electric current thereto. The cartridge includes a wire connected to an electrode launched from each of at least two of said cartridges by the power source toward the target when the firing element is actuated in a firing position. The clip moves two cartridges to the firing position and after the firing element is actuated extracts the cartridges and associated wires. The wires are connected to the high voltage generator subsequent to the firing element being actuated after which the cycle of firing and extraction of spent cartridges can be repeated multiple times in manual, semiautomatic or automatic mode.
