  • Patent number: 7206298
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are presented for scheduling asynchronous neighboring cells within a wireless communication system. The Neighbor Set is apportioned into a Synchronated Neighbor Set and an Asynchronous Neighbor Set. Rather than performing a full frame timing acquisition search upon the Neighbor Set, only portions of the full frame timing acquisition search are selectively applied to the Asynchronous Neighbor Set. In addition, a synchronous search is performed on the Synchronated Neighbor Set.

  • Patent number: 7039017
Abstract: A system and method is provided for monitoring interference in a wireless communication system. The system and method monitor error statistic data at one or more devices in a wireless communication system. The error statistic data can be utilized to determine the location of the interference. If any unusual error statistic data is present at the one or more of the devices, raw unprocessed data is provided from the devices experiencing unusual error activity. The raw unprocessed data can be utilized to characterize the interference. For example, the raw unprocessed data can be compared to one or more interference templates to determine an interference type. The raw unprocessed data can be compared between devices in the wireless communication system to determine the location of the interference with increased precision.

  • Patent number: 7020133
Abstract: A switch queue predictive protocol (SQPP) includes a packet switching system including: a switch fabric having a cross-point switch, and a plurality of line cards, each coupled to the switch fabric. A cross-point buffer is located at each cross-point of the cross-point switch. The switch fabric also includes a plurality of actual available queue space tables (AAQSTs), each identifying the actual queue space available in a row of the cross-point buffers. Each of the line cards includes an input buffer, an output buffer, and a predicted available queue space table (PAQST) identifying predicted queue space available in a corresponding row of the cross-point buffers. Packet information is transmitted from a source line card to the switch fabric only if available queue space is predicted by the corresponding PAQST. The switch fabric uses the AAQST to update the PAQST after packet information is transmitted to a destination line card.
