  • Patent number: 8150638
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of determining parasitic capacitance for transistors within an integrated circuit can include determining a first set of coefficients for a first expression that calculates parasitic capacitance for a transistor structure according to a first plurality of parasitic capacitances derived from a plurality of two-dimensional transistor structures (320). The first set of coefficients can be inserted into the first expression (325). The method further can include determining a second set of coefficients for a second expression that calculates parasitic capacitance for a transistor structure according to a second plurality of parasitic capacitances derived from a plurality of three-dimensional transistor structures (345). The second expression can include the first expression (350). The method can include inserting the second set of coefficients into the second expression and outputting the second expression (355).

  • Patent number: 8135556
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for controlling the simulation of a coupled hybrid dynamic system. A physical test rig configured to drive the physical structure component of the system and to generate a test rig response as a result of applying a test rig drive signal. A processor is configured with a virtual model of the system. The processor receives the test rig response and generates a model response of the system based on the received test rig response and a virtual drive input. The system is driven with a random input. The processor compares the test rig response with the model response, the difference being used to form a system dynamic response model for generating the test drive signal. An inverse of the system dynamic response model is used to iteratively reduce the difference between the model response and the test rig response below a defined threshold.

  • Patent number: 8108156
Abstract: Methods, program products, and computer systems for estimating a stress of a toughened structural adhesive polymer are provided. One method comprises selecting a strain, a strain rate, a temperature, or a combination thereof at which the stress is to be estimated. A value of a strain-hardening stress of the toughened structural adhesive polymer is determined, wherein the value of the strain-hardening stress is dependent on the temperature and the strain. A value of a non-strain-hardening stress of the toughened structural adhesive polymer is determined, wherein the value of the non-strain-hardening stress is dependent on the strain, the strain rate, and the temperature. The value of the strain-hardening stress is added to the value of the non-strain-hardening stress to obtain an estimated total stress.

  • Patent number: 8055453
Abstract: In certain embodiments, estimating air in a cooling system includes measuring a property that can be used to estimate the air to yield a plurality of measurements. The measurements are performed for different heat loads and for different concentrations of non-condensable gas in the cooling system. The measurements are stored a data set.
