  • Patent number: 9676366
Abstract: A gas generator contains an anti-vibration, auto-igniting pad. The pad is formed from a mixture of a known auto-igniting composition mixed with an elastomeric polymer, and then cured, thereby forming a polymer-auto-igniting composition matrix. The pad is placed in thermodynamic communication with a housing on the gas generator, thereby enhancing the safety of the gas generator while yet providing a multi-functional pad. The pad is formulated to reduce vibrations when biased against an associated gas generant, while augmenting the amount of gas produced upon gas generator activation, while yet providing an auto-igniting material that is ignited during a high heat event.

  • Patent number: 9665120
Abstract: An adjustment apparatus for adjusting a setting of a sighting device, such as a riflescope or telescope, includes an adjustment knob operatively coupled to an adjustment mechanism, where rotation of the adjustment knob about a rotational axis drives the adjustment mechanism to adjust the setting of the sighting device. The adjustment apparatus further includes a lock mechanism including a first lock element fixed relative to the sighting device and a second lock element selectively movable relative to the first lock element. When the lock elements engage one another, the adjustment knob is in a locked position and restrained from rotating about the rotational axis. The adjustment apparatus may further include a lock-release mechanism operable to disengage the lock elements and allow the adjustment knob to rotate about the rotational axis.

  • Patent number: 9664475
Abstract: A prepackaged bug gun magazine for a gas powered weapon includes a body adapted to fit within an opening in the weapon. The magazine has a first surface, a second surface and at least one chamber. The length of the chambers extends from the first surface to the second surface. A first frangible sealing membrane is removably affixed to the first surface of the body and seals the first end of the chamber. A second frangible sealing membrane is removably affixed to the second surface of the body and seals the second end of the chamber. Particulate projectiles are located within the chambers and sealed in place by the sealing membranes. An indexing system aligns the chamber with a barrel of the weapon. Discharge causes pressurized gas to breach the first membrane and impact of the particulate projectiles will breach the second membrane, permitting the projectiles to enter the barrel.

  • Patent number: 9658011
Abstract: An improved bolt and bolt carrier with integral gas key having an extension nozzle threadedly secured and pinned to the gas key for use with a direct gas operated firearm is provided. The extension nozzle is designed to receive a portion of the host firearms gas operating system. The firing pin retaining pin is oriented so as to expose its widest profile to the firing pins annular flange, increasing its service life. The bolt has a plurality of lugs extending from its forward end and an extractor recess. The extractor recess is constructed to accommodate an enlarged extractor claw while not undercutting the bolt lugs adjacent thereto. The extractor engages approximately 57% more of a seated ammunition cartridges rim as compared to some prior art AR15/M16 type extractors used with automatic firearms chambered in 6.8SPC. The result is an improved bolt and bolt carrier which provides for increased operational reliability.

  • Patent number: 9651327
Abstract: The invention comprises a device and various optional modifications to the lower receiver of a semiautomatic firearm whereby the firearm is at least semi-permanently rendered incapable of quickly removing and replacing a cartridge magazine. The device comprises a means to mechanically retain the magazine in the lower receiver of the firearm such that special tools and at least several minutes are required to remove and replace the magazine. The optional modifications comprise elimination of certain standard machined features which accept and allow the use of a magazine catch, magazine catch spring and magazine catch button; introduction of a hole or slot through the sidewall of the magazine well to accommodate a magazine retention fitting which holds the magazine in place; and the interruption of the lower portion of a clearance slot in the magazine well to prevent installation of a magazine from the bottom of the receiver.

  • Patent number: 9644928
Abstract: Disclosed is a bullet and practice cartridge for use on a shooting range having a cylindrical rear part and an ogive region at the nose end. The ogive region has a rear end and a bullet tip. In order that the bullet behaves like a conventional full metal jacket round nose bullet in a soft target, and moreover has a low energy output in the soft target, that the bullet does not deform or splinter in soft materials, and that the bullet does not puncture protective materials of bullet catchers, the bullet is constructed in one piece, the ogive region is closed all round a cavity and the wall thickness of the ogive region decreases constantly from the rear end to the tip.

  • Patent number: 9618311
Abstract: A blast treatment method for blasting an object includes: a step in which an explosive is detonated inside a pressure vessel (30) which has an elasto-plastic metal, thereby imparting to the pressure vessel (30) an initial load wherein the primary and secondary stress generated in at least a portion of the pressure vessel becomes high enough to be in a plastic region exceeding the elastic region, thereby generating a shakedown state in the pressure vessel (30); and a subsequent step in which a treatment explosive (50) is detonated within the pressure vessel (30), thereby blasting the object (10).
