  • Patent number: 6843947
Abstract: A method for roughing surfaces and edges of concrete casted blocks, comprising a block support surface having a plurality of surface sections. A first of the surface sections has a rear end thereof above an adjacent front end of a second of the surface sections to create a ledge for projecting a leading edge portion of concrete blocks conveyed over the first surface section. A first roughing device has a plurality of impacting elements thereon for roughing concrete blocks. The first roughing device is disposed generally above the rear end of the first surface section for abrading a projecting leading edge portion of each concrete block as they are conveyed over the rear end. A conveyor displaces concrete blocks over the first and second surface sections, the blocks being tilted when reaching a predetermined position over the ledge to avoid being abraded by the roughing device.

  • Patent number: 6841108
Abstract: A balustrade product including an elongated molded housing formed of a synthetic material is disclosed. An insert member is embedded within the molded housing to form a plurality of holes extending longitudinally through the molded housing. The insert member includes supports having openings and pipes extended through the openings. The supports each have a circumferentially spaced plurality of tabs that are sized to extend to an outer portion of the molded housing. The pipes are positioned in parallel relation to one another and in parallel relation to a longitudinal axis of the balustrade product. Each of the holes is configured to receive connecting pins for releasable connection with the support structure. The balustrade product is formed by centrifuge molding process with the insert member placed within the mold halves allowing the tabs to engage the mold halves to position and hold the insert member in place.

  • Patent number: 6841110
Abstract: A method for the production of prestressed concrete products and a plant for implementing the method. Moulds provided with pretensioned wires are moved through fixed casting machines into a hardening space. In the hardening space, the combination of mould and product is lifted sideways from the casting line before hardening, using synchronised lifting equipment. The combination may be stacked for space economy. After hardening, the product is removed from the mould using the same lifting equipment. The moulds are returned to the beginning of the casting line, during which stage they are cleaned and refurbished. The products are transferred to cutting and finishing stations.

  • Patent number: 6838036
Abstract: A golf ball 1 has a core 2 and a cover 3. For molding a core 2, a rubber composition is extruded from a kneading machine, and cut at a predetermined length to obtain a preforming material. The preforming material is placed in a mold and the mold is clamped. An upper portion and lower portion of the mold mate for more than or equal to 15 seconds, and thereafter they are unclamped until a clearance between the upper and lower portions becomes from 3 mm to 8 mm, then, the mold is shut. The shutting time is determined to be from 0.5 second to 5.0 seconds. By this unclamping of the mold, a residual air in a spherical cavity is released, which results in elimination of defective products.

  • Patent number: 6835343
Abstract: A method and apparatus for handling large concrete retaining wall blocks and the like. The blocks are cast in a form with the front face down, a lifting loop extending from a rear face and with grooves extending in sides from a rear face to adjacent the front face. A spear hook is secured to one of two fork lift tines to extend to one side of the tine away from the other tine. The spear hook engages the lifting loop on the block for lifting the block from the form and for rolling the block into an upright position. The fork lift tines then engage the side grooves from the rear of the block for lifting and moving the blocks and for stacking the blocks to construct a retaining wall.

  • Patent number: 6833105
Abstract: A process of manufacturing a sulfoaluminate or ferroaluminate cement, and an apparatus for the manufacture. The cement is manufactured from a mixture containing CaCO3, Al3 and/or Al(OH)3, CaSO4, SiO2 and/or a product containing silica or silicates such as clay, these compounds being present in the anhydrous or hydrated form. In this process, the mixture is treated up to clinkering by movement in a center of a kiln, in a sheet with approximately constant thickness, at approximately constant speed, along a treatment path having a positive temperature gradient, and for a treatment time during which the mixture remains below its melting temperature. The mixture is clinkered to produce a clinkered mixture that is cooled upon exit from the treatment path.

  • Patent number: 6824636
Abstract: A method for manufacture of a hollow complex three-dimensional fiber golf club head having at least one hole. A fluid-removable core is shaped in the general form of the golf club head, placed in a flexible pressurizable bladder around the core, at least one ply of fiber impregnated with a curable resin is wrapped over the core and bladder, and a cured part is formed by pressurizing the bladder while the core, bladder, and impregnated fiber is in a female mold to force the plies against the inner surfaces of the mold. After heating to cure the resin, the bladder and the fluid-removable core is removed from the interior of the cured part by disintegrating core with a fluid sufficient to allow removal of the bladder.
