Depending on the result of the verification procedure, the end device may or may not start a discontinuous reception inactivity timer depending on whether the potential false grant is deemed a false grant or a valid grant. Similarly, the end device may invoke a verification procedure for a new uplink transmission grant. The detection of false grants may minimize the waste of power for the end device.
