  • Patent number: 9898932
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for monitoring an area utilizing an unmanned vehicle. These mechanisms identify an area to be monitored by an unmanned vehicle and identify an unmanned vehicle assigned to monitoring the identified area. The mechanisms further generate, for the unmanned vehicle, a travel path to be traversed by the unmanned vehicle using a function to randomize generation of the travel path. Moreover, the mechanisms program the unmanned vehicle to traverse the generated travel path and initiate operation of the unmanned vehicle to collect data about the area while traversing the generated travel path. In addition, the mechanisms monitor the area utilizing the unmanned vehicle based on the data collected by the unmanned vehicle while traversing the generated travel path.

  • Patent number: 9821744
Abstract: A method and system for operating restraint devices in a vehicle during a fast roll event or a slow roll event includes a lateral acceleration sensor and an angular rate sensor. When the angular rate and a vertical acceleration of the vehicle predict a vehicle rollover, the system integrates the lateral acceleration from the lateral acceleration sensor to obtain a roll rate velocity. When the lateral acceleration is greater than a fast lateral acceleration threshold and the roll rate velocity is greater than a fast roll rate velocity threshold, the system provides a fast roll event output. When the lateral acceleration is less than the fast lateral acceleration threshold and greater than a slow lateral acceleration threshold while the roll rate velocity is greater than a slow roll rate velocity threshold, the system provides a slow roll event output. The system operates restraint devices based on the roll event.

  • Patent number: 9809227
Abstract: In an apparatus, a storage stores therein first identification data prepared for each of target objects including a specified target object and second identification data prepared for each of the target objects. The first identification data for each of the target objects is determined based on a first feature pattern of a corresponding one of the target objects. The second identification data for each of the target objects is determined based on a second feature pattern indicative of a surrounding environment around a corresponding one of the target objects. An identifier obtains a degree of similarity of the feature of the candidate data with respect to the specified target object according to the first identification data and the second identification data prepared for the specified target object. The identifier identifies, according to the obtained degree of similarity, whether the specified target object is in the environmental data.

  • Patent number: 9765716
Abstract: A hybrid power supply system for an engine is disclosed. The hybrid power supply system includes a sensing unit to generate a signal indicative of a speed of the engine and a controller to determine the speed of the engine based on the signal received from the sensing unit. The controller compares the speed of the engine with a predefined maximum idle speed, and cuts off a supply of fuel to the engine, when the speed of the engine is greater than or equal to the predefined maximum idle speed. The controller shuts off an inlet valve and an exhaust valve associated with a cylinder of the engine. The closure of the inlet valve and the exhaust valve allow compression and expansion of air within the cylinder during supply of a rotational power by a flywheel.
