  • Patent number: 8297291
Abstract: A combination parts washer for cleaning mechanical parts of oil, grease and contaminants. The washer has a cabinet which has two reservoirs. A parts receptacle in the one of the reservoirs receives the parts which are cleaned by ultrasonic waves. An operable sink for manual cleaning is positioned on the top of the cabinet and opens to access the cabinet and reservoir. Fluid from the sink drains to the first reservoir. In the closed position, the sink covers the top of the cabinet and may be used as a sink washer using the attached brush supplied by fluid from the first reservoir. Initial pre-cleaning may be performed in the sink using the brush. Subsequent precision cleaning may be accomplished by immersion and ultrasonic cleaning in the second reservoir.

  • Patent number: 7908893
Abstract: A system and method of determining the temperature of a rotating electromagnetic machine, such as an electric motor or generator. A temperature calibration parameter is calculated based on the temperature of an object situated close to the motor, such as a motor drive connected to the motor, and a first resistance value of the winding. In exemplary embodiments, the motor drive and first resistance value are determined only after the motor has been idle for some predetermined time period. Once the calibration parameter is calculated, the processor uses it along with subsequent resistance measurements to calculate the temperature of the motor.

  • Patent number: 7833348
Abstract: An object of the invention is to calibrate an upper pyrometer for indirectly measuring a substrate temperature at the time of epitaxial growth in a comparatively short time and with accuracy to thereby improve the quality of an epitaxial substrate. After calibrating an upper pyrometer by a thermocouple mounted to a temperature calibrating susceptor, a measured value of a lower pyrometer is adjusted to a calibrated value of the upper pyrometer. Then, a correlation line between substrate temperature indirectly measured by the upper pyrometer at the time of epitaxial growth onto a sample substrate and haze of a sample substrate measured immediately after epitaxial growth is set to indirectly measure a substrate temperature by the upper pyrometer at the time of epitaxial growth onto a mass-production substrate.

  • Patent number: 7824500
Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for cleaning a reactor chamber of a pump exhaust abatement system. During the cleaning of the reactor chamber a transparent protective shield is temporarily mounted on an opening of a cabinet that contains the reactor chamber. The transparent protective shield has apertures and associated glove mounts that allow protective gloves to be placed through the apertures. This allows a technician to have gloved access to clean the reactor chamber within the cabinet. The transparent protective shield protects the technician from exposure to pollutants during the time that the reactor chamber is being cleaned. The transparent protective shield is removed after the cleaning process has been completed.

  • Patent number: 7814918
Abstract: In a method of cleaning an ejection face by supplying a head liquid on a surface (ejection face) of an inkjet head provided with ink ejection outlets, and then by performing wiping operations thereon, an ink residue on the ejection face is efficiently and surely removed from the ejection face to achieve a sufficient cleaning thereon. For this purpose, a first wiping operation is first performed such that a wiper (9A) is relatively largely bent, and slidingly contacts the ejection face at an abdomen thereof to efficiently perform the application, stirring and mixing of the head liquid. Then, a second wiping operation is performed such that an edge portion of the top end of a wiper (9B) slidingly contacts the surface to efficiently scrape the mixture of the head liquid and the ink residue.

Abstract: The present application relates to a method and device for cleaning surfaces. In one embodiment, a cleaning device includes a cleaning tool, a motor, a reservoir, an extractor, and a recovery tank. The reservoir stores fluid and may act as a base of the cleaning device. The extractor suctions used fluid from the surface and may be removably attached to the reservoir such that the extractor may be raised and lowered relative to the surface. The recovery tank stores the used fluid from the extractor and may be located adjacent the reservoir. The reservoir may also be formed to fit at least partially around the motor. The cleaning device may also be designed such that at least a portion of the weight of the fluid in the reservoir and the used fluid in the recovery tank is over the cleaning tool.

  • Patent number: 7744959
Abstract: The present invention is drawn to a method of preparing a porous media substrate, comprising combining metal or semi-metal oxide particulates with a polymeric binder, wherein the metal or semi-metal oxide particulates are associated with at least one water soluble coating formulation additive. At least a portion of the water soluble coating formulation additive i) is in the form of unreacted additive, or ii) generates undesired electrolytes. Additional steps include removing at least a portion of the unreacted additive or undesired electrolytes, either before or after combining the metal or semi-metal oxide particulates with the polymeric binder, thereby forming a refined coating composition; and applying the refined coating composition to a media substrate to form an ink-receiving layer having a porous surface.
