  • Patent number: 10702953
Abstract: The present invention is a composite welding wire for fusion welding of components manufactured of superalloys. The composite weld wire includes a surface layer applied to the core wire in a green condition and bonded to the core wire. The surface layer includes alloying elements selected from among B and Si, the total bulk content of B and Si representing 0.5 to 4.0 wt. % of the composite welding wire. The boron and silicon alloying elements reduce the melting temperature and increase the solidification range of the weld pool, minimizing the incidence of weld cracking compared to welding without the coating. The green condition surface layer is comprised of more than 80 wt. % of the bulk content of the composite welding wire selected from the combination of B and Si.

  • Patent number: 10674754
Abstract: A grain-popping machine and associated pod-based popping method is disclosed. The grain-popping is configured to receive a pod. Each pod includes a plurality of cells, with each cell preferably containing a single grain kernel or seed, flavoring, and a cooking medium such as oil or shortening. In a preferred embodiment, the pod is loaded into the grain-popping machine through a slot so that it is held in position below a heating element. The heating element is activated to begin a popping sequence. When each grain kernel or seed in the pod reaches popping temperature, it absorbs the flavoring in its cell and ejects through the bottom of the pod, which is weakened to ease ejection, into a bowl positioned in a receiving area of the grain-popping machine. The pod is then removed and disposed of.

  • Patent number: 10675709
Abstract: A method and a device for monitoring laser cutting processes in the high-power range above 1 kW mean output envisage automatic quality control after interruption and/or completion of a cutting process carried out with predetermined cutting parameters. The cutting process is interrupted after a first partial processing step, whereupon a partial section (K1 . . . KX) of the processing path is scanned. This preferably takes place at a higher speed than that for the first partial processing procedure and preferably close to or on the same processing path. On the basis of the scan result at least one quality feature of the processing result is automatically determined and compared with predefined quality specifications. Depending on the result of the comparison a fault message can then be issued, the processing interrupted, reworking of a defect point carried out, at least one cutting parameter adjusted and the cutting process continued with the changed set of cutting parameters.

  • Patent number: 10660163
Abstract: An induction humidification system is disclosed. The induction humidification system includes a base having a circumferential induction coil and a removable and replaceable cartridge received within the interior space defined by the induction coil. The canister has a nonmetallic housing, such as a plastic housing, within which a ferromagnetic member having a circumferential sidewall is disposed. When the canister is received within the base, the ferromagnetic member sidewall and the induction coil are radially overlapping such that a current applied to the induction coil causes the ferromagnetic member to be heated which in turn causes water held within the canister to be converted to steam. Once the ferromagnetic member has reached the end of its useful life, the canister can be simply replaced with a new canister that can be received by the original base.
