  • Patent number: 11233985
Abstract: A method for video quality detection and an image processing circuit thereof are provided. In the method, an image-processing circuit receives video signals with at least one frame image, and obtains brightness information of pixels from the frame image. A threshold is applied to the pixels of each frame in order to screen the brightness features that can be regarded as an attribute of each frame image. Therefore, a brightness distribution feature with respect to the pixels of each frame image can be obtained by a statistic method. Statistics showing the brightness distribution can be used to determine a quality of each frame image or a video. The image processing circuit can accordingly select an image processing process corresponding to the image quality of each frame image or the whole video.

  • Patent number: 11228742
Abstract: A projection system includes a signal processor, a light source, an optical relay system, an adjusting member, and a DMD. The signal processor receives image data. The signal processor increases grayscale values of pixels of the image data. The optical relay system provides illumination light to the DMD for modulating to obtain projection light required for a projection image. The adjusting member reduces the luminous flux of the illumination light provided to the DMD when the grayscale values of the pixels of the image data are increased. A reduction ratio of the luminous flux of the illumination light matches an increase ratio of the grayscale values of the image data. The DMD modulates the adjusted illumination light according to the image data with increased grayscale values to generate the projection light required for the projection image.

  • Patent number: 11202043
Abstract: A self-calibrating display can detect and compensate for binocular disparity or other visual imperfection of the display. The display includes a pair of projection units for projecting test light carrying test images through waveguides, which are normally used to carry images to left and right eyes of a user. A detection unit detects the test light propagated through the waveguides, and extracts the test images. Position of reference features in the detected test images may be used to determine binocular disparity, and luminance and color distribution across the test images may be used to determine the illumination and color uniformity of the images displayed to the user. After the visual defects have been detected, they may be reduced or compensated for by pre-emphasizing or shifting images to be displayed to the left and right eyes of the user.

  • Patent number: 11178447
Abstract: A computing device may receive video content along with first audio content that is synchronized with the video content. The computing device may also receive second audio content that is not synchronized with the video content. The computing device may, in turn, transmit output content that includes the video content and the second audio content. A second portion of the second audio content may be identified that has second audio characteristics that are within a selected range of similarity to first audio characteristics of a first portion of the first audio content. A temporal offset may be calculated between the first portion and the second portion. The video content and the second audio content may be synchronized within the output content by delaying, by an amount of the temporal offset, a transmission of the second audio content relative to a transmission of video content.

  • Patent number: 11153581
Abstract: During downloading and decoding of a lower-quality video version of a video segment, an up-switch condition may be detected. An intra-segment up-switch to a higher-quality version of the segment may then be made. In particular, the higher quality version may be downloaded and decoded at least partially concurrently with the lower-quality version, for example using a dual decoder arrangement. A first portion of the lower-quality version may be displayed. The first portion of the lower-quality may extend from a start of the segment to an intermediate position of the segment. At the intermediate position, playing may be switched from the lower-quality version to the higher-quality version. A second portion of the higher-quality version may be displayed.
