  • Patent number: 11314986
Abstract: For each of a plurality of images, a learning device acquires first training data including an image, a class of each of one or more objects shown in the image, and the number of objects, from a storage. The learning device trains a feature extraction part, a class estimation part, and an object number estimation part using the first training data. For each of images of which the number is smaller than the plurality of images, the learning device acquires second training data including an image and coordinates of each of one or more objects in the image, from the storage. The learning device causes the trained feature extraction part to output a feature map of the image included in the second training data, and trains a coordinate estimation part using the feature map and the coordinates included in the second training data.

  • Patent number: 11308353
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media for training a classification neural network to classify digital images in few-shot tasks based on self-supervision and manifold mixup. For example, the disclosed systems can train a feature extractor as part of a base neural network utilizing self-supervision and manifold mixup. Indeed, the disclosed systems can apply manifold mixup regularization over a feature manifold learned via self-supervised training such as rotation training or exemplar training. Based on training the feature extractor, the disclosed systems can also train a classifier to classify digital images into novel classes not present within the base classes used to train the feature extractor.

  • Patent number: 11295113
Abstract: A system includes an identification system and an information database for linking an unidentified animal (UA) to a registered animal. A requester sends the media corresponding to the UA to the identification system. The UA images are used for determining an orientation and position of the UA. A selected 3DSM of the registered animal may be reconfigured using a 3DSM generator by moving the movable joints of the 3DSM to have the same orientation and position as the UA images. A 2DSM generator is used to generate 2D synthetic images (2DSIs) of the selected 3DSM. The images of the unidentified animal are compared to the 2DSIs of the selected 3DSM. When a match probability exceeds a threshold probability, a match is reported to a requester. The requester can obtain permission from an owner to get access to the information pertaining to the UA.

  • Patent number: 11263731
Abstract: The present principles relate to a method and device for gamut mapping from a first color gamut towards a second color gamut. The method comprises, in a plane of constant hue, obtaining a target lightness for a color on the boundary of first gamut with maximum chroma, called first cusp color; and lightness mapping of the color from the first color gamut towards the second color gamut wherein the lightness mapped color is calculated from a parabolic function applied to the color, the parabolic function mapping the first cusp color to a color having the target lightness. According to a particular characteristic, a preserved chroma is also obtained; and in case the chroma of the color is lower than or equal to the preserved chroma, the lightness mapped color is the color, and in case the chroma of the color is higher than the preserved chroma, the lightness mapped color is calculated from the parabolic function applied to the color.

  • Patent number: 11250260
Abstract: An automated system is provided for classifying materials in remotely-sensed imagery based on automated construction of a dynamic classifier—namely, a classifier that is automatically trained on the same image to which it is then subsequently applied. A first automated process identifies high confidence exemplars of each class using tailored classification techniques. This data is then used to train a supervised classification model (e.g., discriminant analysis), and the resultant classifier is applied to other pixels in the image that are unclassified or uncertain. Dynamic classification is automatically customized to the current image and can yield a more accurate and efficient material classification versus a static (image-independent) or manually trained classifier.
