The lift assist assembly includes a counterbalance assembly, and a cable having a first position and a second position. The first position of the cable is connected to the counterbalance assembly, and the second position of the cable is connected to the anti-nosedive leg. The counterbalance assembly is configured to generate tension within the cable to generate an upward force on the anti-nosedive leg. The lift assist assembly may be configured to reduce a force required by an operator to lift the anti-nosedive leg to fifty pounds or less.
