  • Patent number: 11991457
Abstract: An inspection apparatus includes an illumination device capable of emitting first light in a first wavelength band and reference light in a reference wavelength band overlapping with the first wavelength band, an imaging device that images an inspection body and outputs a pixel signal, and an image processing device. The illumination device emits the first light and the reference light to the inspection body at different timings in one imaging time. The image processing device calculates a first reflectance that is a reflectance in the first wavelength band of the object based on the pixel signal, and determines physical properties of the object based on the first reflectance.

  • Patent number: 11983317
Abstract: Disclosed herein is photosensor-based detection of facial landmarks that utilizes images in order to detect and account for sensor shifts. In one embodiment, a system that detects positions of facial landmarks includes a head-mounted device comprising: (i) light sources that emit light towards a first region on a user's face, and (ii) discrete photosensors, spread over more than 2 cm, which take measurements of reflections of the light from the first region. The system also includes a head-mounted camera that captures images of a second region on the face. A computer calculates, based on the images, values indicative of a location and/or orientation of the device relative to the face, and detects, based on the reflections and the values, positions of facial landmarks at an average rate higher than an average rate at which the images are captured.

  • Patent number: 11979615
Abstract: In a method to improve backwards compatibility when decoding high-dynamic range images coded in a wide color gamut (WCG) space which may not be compatible with legacy color spaces, hue and/or saturation values of images in an image database are computed for both a legacy color space (say, YCbCr-gamma) and a preferred WCG color space (say, IPT-PQ). Based on a cost function, a reshaped color space is computed so that the distance between the hue values in the legacy color space and rotated hue values in the preferred color space is minimized HDR images are coded in the reshaped color space. Legacy devices can still decode standard dynamic range images assuming they are coded in the legacy color space, while updated devices can use color reshaping information to decode HDR images in the preferred color space at full dynamic range.

  • Patent number: 11978284
Abstract: A preliminary image is captured that includes parts of an authentication target person. Main authentication targets are determined. The main authentication targets are those parts that each have an acceptable image-capturing state. A single image-capturing device can then be controlled to successively capture images of the main authentication parts of the authentication target person that have been determined with different settings. These images of the main authentication parts that have been captured can then be output. For instance, authentication of the target person may be performed using authentication data for each main authentication part, where such authentication is successfully when authentication for all the main authentication parts is successful.
