Abstract: A display control apparatus includes a communication control unit configured to control a first communication for receiving a video signal based on image data from a printing apparatus using a first communication protocol for receiving a video signal, and a second communication for sending image data to the printing apparatus using a second communication protocol for sending data to be used for printing. The communication control unit performs control to communicate with the printing apparatus using the second communication protocol in response to a storage medium being connected to the display control apparatus, and performs control to communicate with the printing apparatus using the first communication protocol in response to receiving a notification indicating that a storage medium is connected to the printing apparatus.
Abstract: Disclosed are methods of controlling printing of a document using a printer driver interface, and corresponding apparatus and computer-readable medium. The embodiments receive a print command to print a document having a document size, display the printer driver interface, the printer driver interface including the document size, display a selectable paper output size on the printer driver interface, the selectable paper output size allowing a user to select a user-selected one of a plurality of different paper output sizes, display user-selectable scaling options on the print driver interface, the scaling options for applying scaling to an image to be printed on the user-selected one of the plurality of different paper output sizes, receive from the user the user-selected one of the paper output sizes, and control printing of the document using the user-selected one of the paper output sizes.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided that can perform distributed control for a plurality of operation units, without concentrating control in a single device. The apparatus includes a plurality of modules that respectively correspond to a plurality of operation units, each module including a communication device, a functional block setting device and a functional block connected with a corresponding operation unit. The functional block has a register that holds, in an updateable condition, control values relating to various controls of the corresponding operation unit. Each module is triggered by an operation start signal input to a start terminal of the communication device to start an operation for controlling a corresponding operation unit in accordance with each control value held in the register device.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus and a method thereof has a printing log management function. An image forming apparatus allows a connection with an external memory device such as a mobile memory card, and prints out an image in accordance with the image data file which is stored in the external memory device. Among many files stored in the external memory device, the image forming apparatus memorizes and stores the information about the files which have been printed at least once, or specifically selected by a user. Accordingly, the user is enabled to print once-printed images or specific images without endeavoring cumbersome processes such as search or selection of a desired image data file. As a result, printing operations can be carried out faster and more efficiently.
Abstract: An image-processing apparatus includes: a memory that stores a red color range occurring within a color space; an acquiring unit that acquires image data representing an image containing text; and a generating unit that generates, based on the image data acquired by the acquiring unit, image data in which a pattern image is disposed in a region containing text whose color is within the red color range, the pattern image having a first transmittance in a case that a size of the region is greater than or equal to a threshold, the pattern image having a second transmittance that is smaller than the first transmittance in a case that the size of the region is smaller than the threshold.
Abstract: An information processing method carried out in an information processing apparatus having a driver program which has previously been installed, and an installation set including a driver program to be customized and an installer, comprises specifying expansion print setting from print settings set in the driver program which has previously been installed, obtaining the specified expansion print setting, and holding the obtained expansion print setting as the installation set.
