  • Patent number: 8565552
Abstract: A printer receives a plurality of image sections and corresponding image headers from the host as an image concatenation command. The plurality of image sections store the plurality of image sections in a print queue. The printer creates a virtual canvas representing a full image size. The printer determines how many lines of uniform data are present in a top border and a bottom border of the plurality of image sections. A variable formatting module of the printer crops a bottom border of a first image section to create a cropped first image section and a top border of a last image section to create a cropped last image section. The variable formatting module creates a first image frame in the virtual canvas corresponding to the first image section minus the bottom border and a last image frame corresponding to the last image section minus the top border.

  • Patent number: 8548246
Abstract: A method and system for preprocessing an image, wherein the image includes a plurality of columns, or regions, of text is disclosed. A plurality of components associated with the text is determined. On determining the plurality of components, a line height and a column spacing is determined for the components. A set of characteristic parameters are calculated for each column and the plurality of components of each column are merged based on the characteristic parameters to form sub-words and words. A first plurality of words and/or subwords is merged and processed as a first region and a second plurality of words and/or subwords is merged and processed as a second region wherein at least a portion of the second region vertically overlaps at least a portion of the first region.

  • Patent number: 8537889
Abstract: An Inverse Transform (IT) conforming to MPEG AVC I_PCM that offers better video image quality than the MPEG-2/H.263 based video decoders and real time motion picture processing at 30 frames/seconds is described. The IT module performs 4×4 Inverse Integer transform for AVC for MPEG-2 operations on a given macro block (MB) and all its sub blocks. The IT is the third module in the data flow pipeline of a video decoder, the first two being a variable length decoder (VLD) and an inverse quantizer (IQ). The IT module gets its inputs from IQ module and feeds its processed output to a Motion compensation unit/intra-prediction (MCU-IP) module, thus reconstructing the video picture.

Abstract: A super resolution (SR) method or system with database-free texture synthesis is disclosed. An input image is up-sampled to result in an up-sampled image. It is determined whether the input image possesses a smooth region. Edges of the up-sampled image are enhanced, and the enhancing edges step is bypassed if the smooth region has been detected. The enhanced or unenhanced up-sampled image is texture synthesized by taking the input image as texture example, thereby resulting in a synthesized image.
