    Abstract: The vehicle steering system includes a rack shaft and a conversion mechanism that converts rotation of a rotating shaft of the motor into reciprocating motion of the rack shaft. The conversion mechanism includes a drive pulley that rotates with the rotating shaft, a driven pulley rotatable about an axis of the rack shaft and a toothed belt extending around the drive pulley and the driven pulley, and converts rotation of the rotating shaft into reciprocating motion of the rack shaft when rotation of the drive pulley is transmitted to the driven pulley via the toothed belt. The vehicle steering system further includes a determination circuit that determines tooth skipping that is a change in meshing position between the drive pulley and the toothed belt, and a calculation circuit that calculates an integrated value obtained by integrating a prescribed value indicating that tooth skipping is determined by the determination circuit.

The torsion angle calculation circuit calculates a torsion angle based on a steering torque. The gain calculation circuit calculates a gain having a positive or negative value based on a value obtained by multiplying the steering torque and a steering speed together by the multiplication circuit. The multiplication circuit calculates a compensation amount by multiplying the torsion angle and the gain together. The addition circuit calculates a target pinion angle having a compensated phase by adding the compensation amount to a target steering angle.

The hinge is configured to allow the trailing assembly to move side-to-side while the four-bar linkage allows the trailing assembly to move up and down relative to the front chassis. Collectively, the rear facing mechanism is configured to maintain the follower wheel in contact with and normal to the surface and also maintains the front support in contact with the surface and provides stability and maneuverability to the vehicle while traversing surfaces regardless of surface curvature and vehicle orientation.

    Abstract: A swing arm assembly for a foldable wheelchair consisting of a camber tube and adapters is disclosed. The adapters mount to the frame of the wheelchair and receive the ends of the camber tube. One end of the camber tube is pinned into an adapter such that it pivots. The other end is pinned in an adapter using a quick release pin. The camber tube improves the stability of the foldable wheelchair. When desired to fold the wheelchair, the quick release pin is removed and the camber tube is rotated approximately 90 degrees, thereby allowing the wheelchair to fold. The adapters may be mounted to the wheelchair frame or to stub axles if used. The swing arm assembly adds substantial stiffness and stability to a folding wheelchair.

When engaging a bicycle skewer at the rear wheel of a bicycle, the spherical engagement surface allows more freedom of movement of the bicycle trailer relative to the skewer during towing. This enhances the trailers ability to track the movement of the bicycle. The latch can comprise a housing with a housing opening sized to receive the end portion of the bicycle wheel skewer. A stop inside the housing is pivotal to stop closed and stop open positions. In the stop closed position, the housing opening is sufficiently to block the decoupling of the latch from bicycle skewer. In the stop open position, the stop opens the housing opening sufficiently to permit passage of the end portion of the skewer through the housing opening.
