  • Patent number: 11093086
Abstract: A method and apparatus for inputting data for an electronic data entry device are provided. In one embodiment, identification of an input object such as the particular fingers of a user that are used to actuate a key region is performed. The symbol associated with the actuated key region and the finger (or other input object) used is determined. In other embodiments, virtual input devices with interfaces such as QWERTY style keyboards, phone keypads, and multi-touch capable touchpads or tablets are provided in input regions. One or more video capturing devices remotely acquire actuation information from the input regions during data entry. User inputted symbols or functions are determined based on the actuations, their locations and identified input object sets that caused the actuations.

  • Patent number: 11095328
Abstract: A wireless access point serves dynamic direction-of-arrival reception. An access point radio wirelessly receives a wireless signal that transports time-domain data. Access point circuitry determines uplink utilization for the access point radio. The circuitry transforms the time-domain data into frequency-domain data. The circuitry filters the frequency-domain data for one direction-of-arrival responsive to the uplink utilization. The circuitry synthesizes the time-domain data from the filtered frequency-domain data. The radio wirelessly receives another wireless signal that transports additional time-domain data. The circuitry determines a higher uplink utilization for the access point radio. The circuitry transforms the additional time-domain data into additional frequency-domain data. The circuitry filters the additional frequency-domain data for multiple directions-of-arrival responsive to the higher uplink utilization.

  • Patent number: 11083037
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for communicating data from multiple data terminals to an aggregator terminal over a communication link having changing link conditions. In some embodiments, source data is received at multiple data terminals, each in communication with an aggregator terminal over a communication link. For example, during a live newscast, one mobile camera may receive live video of an event from a first position while another mobile camera receives live video of the event from a second position. For various reasons (e.g., as the cameras move) each communication link may experience independently changing link conditions. Each data terminal encodes the source data (or store source data for later encoding) as a function of its respective link conditions, and transmits encoded source data over its respective communication link to the aggregator terminal.

  • Patent number: 11082336
Abstract: Techniques for utilizing Software-Defined Networking (SDN) controllers and network border leaf nodes of respective cloud computing networks to configure a data transmission route for a multicast group. Each border leaf node may maintain a respective external sources database, including a number of records indicating associations between a multicast data source, one or more respective border leaf nodes disposed in the same network as the multicast data source, and network capability information. A border leaf node, disposed in the same network as a multicast data source, may broadcast a local source discovery message to all border leaf nodes in remote networks to which it is communicatively coupled. A border leaf node may also communicate network capability information associated with one or more remote networks to a local SDN controller. The SDN controller may utilize the network capability information to configure a data transmission route to one or more destination nodes.

  • Patent number: 11071025
Abstract: Some of the present implementations provide a method for a user equipment (UE) for performing a handover procedure with minimum mobility interruption. In some of the present implementations, the method receives, at the UE, a reconfiguration message that has an indicator for performing a dual-connectivity based (DC-based) handover procedure. The method then performs the DC-based handover procedure. In some of the present implementations, a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity at the UE maintains different security keys to decipher PDCP packets received from at least one of a source base station and a target base station while the UE is transitioning from the source base station to the target base station, wherein a first security key is associated with the source base station and a second security key is associated with the target base station.

  • Patent number: 11071013
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a group communication method, system, group server, and group member device. A group server receives notification messages sent by a group member device, aggregates, according to an address of a subscription device, the notification messages destined for the same subscription device, and sends a notification message obtained after aggregation to the subscription device. By aggregating multiple messages sent by the group member device to the subscription device, messages exchanged between the group member device and the subscription device are reduced, thereby reducing communication traffic between the group member device and the subscription device.

  • Patent number: 11044630
Abstract: This application discloses a method and an apparatus for adjusting a data sending rate. In the method, when determining that a return time of feedback information of a first data packet has timed out, a terminal reduces a data sending rate of a connection to which the first data packet belongs from a first value to a second value. Then the terminal detects return times of feedback information of a plurality of subsequent data packets after the first data packet and determines a cause of the timeout of the feedback information of the first data packet. The terminal further increases a data sending rate from a current third value to a fourth value when determining that the timeout is caused by a packet loss on a wireless link in a communications link.

  • Patent number: 11036200
Abstract: A novel and useful acknowledgement and adaptive frequency hopping mechanism for use in wireless communication systems such as IO-Link Wireless. One or two additional acknowledgement bits are added to packet transmissions. One is a current acknowledgment bit which indicates whether a packet was successfully received anytime during the current cycle. The second bit is a previous acknowledgment bit which indicates whether packets were received successfully anytime during the previous cycle. An adaptive hopping table is constructed using a greedy algorithm which chooses frequencies with the best PER for transmission of higher priority packets, while equalizing the PER products across cycles. A last resort frequency mechanism further improves transmission success by switching to a better performing channel for the last subcycle when previous attempts to transmit a high priority packet have failed.

  • Patent number: 11039356
Abstract: Distribution of traffic to cells in a communication network can be controlled. A distribution management component (DMC) can determine overall device traffic throughput for cells of a sector that satisfy a defined traffic throughput criterion relating to a harmonic mean of the device traffic throughput for the cells to desirably enhance or maximize the harmonic mean of the overall device traffic throughput. Based on the overall device traffic throughput for the cells, the DMC can determine whether to adjust a characteristic associated with a cell of the cells to facilitate adjusting distribution of device traffic among the cells of the sector to achieve desirable load balancing of traffic by the sector and in the network. Load balancing can be achieved by controlling respective parameters with regard to communication devices that are in idle mode or connected mode to facilitate directing communication devices and associated traffic to desired cells.

  • Patent number: 11026225
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive multiple physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) in one or more slots along with data traffic, where one of the PDCCHs includes a downlink preemption indication (DLPI) signifying that a portion of the data traffic was preempted. In some cases, the UE may monitor, within a same slot, for both the data traffic and an additional PDCCH carrying the DLPI and then transmit, within the same slot, a feedback message based on attempting to decode the data traffic, taking into account the DLPI. Additionally, the UE may receive the data traffic via a first service, where the DLPI indicates a second service preempts the first service. In some cases, the DLPI may be transmitted based on the UE being capable of processing the data traffic and transmitting the feedback message within the same slot.
