Abstract: A method of distributed resource management in a distributed computing system includes determining usage of respective hardware resources by an application and generating usage metrics for the application, and assigning the application to a cluster of hardware resources to optimize diversity of usage of hardware resources in the cluster and to enhance utilization of the hardware resources by applications running in that cluster. The diversity of usage of the hardware resources is determined from respective usage metrics of the respective applications running in that cluster. The diversity of usage of the hardware resources in the cluster is optimized by assigning the application to a diversity pool of hardware resources adapted to minimize interference when applications assigned to the diversity pool of hardware resources access the hardware resources in the diversity pool and assigning applications from different diversity pools to the cluster of hardware resources.

Abstract: The disclosure herein describes predicting potential impact of issues reported in incident ticket data on infrastructure element. A ticket manager component includes an impact model utilizing machine learning to analyze real-time event and metric data with incident-related data to generate predicted impact data. The predicted impact data identifies potentially impacted infrastructure elements, such as, potentially impacted users, predicted infrastructure components impacted by the issue and/or an updated time-period associated with the issue. The ticket manager component creates labeled incident tickets by updating user-generated incident tickets with additional data generated by the impact model, including predicted impact data and/or additional details associated with the issue. The labeled incident tickets are provided back to the model as training data to further refine predictions generated by the model.

Abstract: An example device for processing media data is configured to parse a bitstream including the media data, the bitstream being formatted according to Common Media Application Format (CMAF), detect, during the parsing, a file type (FTYP) value for a CMAF track file of the bitstream, determine that a CMAF header of the CMAF track file starts with the FTYP value, and process one or more CMAF fragments following the CMAF header of the CMAF track file. The device may additionally be configured to detect one or more segment type (STYP) values in the bitstream, determine that each of the one or more STYP values corresponds to a start of a respective one of the CMAF fragments, and process each of the CMAF fragments starting from the corresponding STYP value.

An example method includes periodically broadcasting, by the playback device over the network, a probe message, detecting, by the playback device, a change in status associated with the connection, based on the detection, obtaining, by the playback device, a new Internet Protocol (IP) address; and based on the detection, including, by the playback device in at least one probe message broadcast subsequent to the detection, an indication for other playback devices on the network to obtain a new IP address.

Abstract: Electronic communications between a client device and a server device are improved by providing a middleware component that incorporates electronic data read and/or written to a database in a hybrid data structure. The hybrid structure is further designed to allow for “NULL” or other pre-defined data values when one or more data fields are unavailable or erroneous. The client device, in turn, can be configured to check for the pre-defined data values in certain fields and to gracefully process such values. The hybrid structure with pre-defined error values therefore provides for very efficient data transmittal and processing, while retaining the ability to handle errors or other unusual situations relating to the data.

Abstract: In various implementations, a productivity application allows selected content from an electronic document to be shared with and edited by multiple users through instances of a collaboration component. The collaboration component includes a distributed data structure that stores state information about the shared content. The component also includes application logic for managing the state information to reflect user edits and other such changes. This allows the selected content to be shared with the users in any application that supports the collaboration component and without the entirety of the document having to be shared. A user can experience the content in the context of applications other than the productivity application that hosts the document.

Abstract: A method to validate ownership of a resource within a network, comprising selecting a group of at least two validation agents such that network routes between a validation agent of the group and entities of a group of one or more entities associated to the resource do not intersect. The method further comprises transmitting a property of the resource to be validated and an address indicator for the resource from a coordinating agent to the group of validation agents. Also, the method comprises querying the property of the resource from the entities using the validation agents of the group to determine queried properties; and evaluating the queried properties to validate ownership of the resource.

Abstract: Embodiments of a method of communicating a packet by a network address translation (NAT) enabled router, are described. In an embodiment, the method includes receiving a return packet to be communicated to a destination. The destination is associated with a first source address in the context of a forward packet. The method further includes determining a return path to transmit the return packet to the destination based on security association data. The security association data is pre-recorded in a routing table of the NAT enabled router when the forward packet is received, prior to receiving the return packet, over a forward path established between the NAT enabled router and an enterprise node. The security association data uniquely identifies the forward path as the return path.

Abstract: A set of network requirements is received. At least a portion of the set of network requirements is stored on a system data store. Device requirements for a plurality of network devices are stored on the system data store. At least a portion of the stored device requirements is received at a proxy agent. Native hardware instructions are generated based on the received device requirements to configure at least one of the plurality of network devices.

Abstract: A communication module mounted to a motor provides for communication between a motor controller and a motor or between the motor controller and devices mounted on or proximate to the motor. The communication module may be configured to accept signals from various different encoders and/or load devices mounted on or proximate to the motor. The communication module receives a position feedback signal from a primary encoder interface and is configured to transmit the data to the motor controller at a periodic update rate. The communication module also receives feedback signals from at least one additional device and transmits the data to the motor controller. The communication module synchronizes its periodic update rate with the motor controller such that the position feedback signal may be utilized to control operation of the motor. The additional feedback signals may be communicated at the same or differing update rates.

The controller device includes one or more processing units implemented in circuitry and configured to determine that one or more stateless intents of a deployed graph model including a first set of stateless intents used to manage the plurality of network devices have changed, wherein stateless intents comprise fully declarative descriptions of an intended state of a network including the network devices, state of one or more of the network devices, or state of storage for the network; maintain both the deployed graph model and an undeployed graph model including a second set of stateless intents including the one or more changed stateless intents; compile the changed stateless intents of the undeployed graph model to generate low-level configuration data for the network devices; and configure the network devices using the low-level configuration data.

Abstract: One embodiment of the invention disclosed herein provides techniques for detecting and remediating an outlier server in a distributed computer system. A control server retrieves a group of time-series data sets associated with a first time period, where each time-series data set represents a performance metric for a different server in a group of servers. The control server generates a cluster that includes two or more of the time-series data sets, where the performance metric for each server that is associated with one of the time-series data sets in the cluster is within a threshold distance from the performance metric for the servers that are associated with the other time-series data sets in the cluster. The control server determines that a particular time-series data set corresponds to a server included in the group of servers and is not included in the cluster, and marks the server as an outlier server.

Abstract: Disclosed are meeting spaces that are accessible through an adjoining facility or area, and associated systems and methods that provide automated levels of security for classified discussions. The meeting spaces are configured to automatically adapt to different levels of classification, e.g., from any of unclassified to top secret classifications. The meeting spaces are prevented from becoming active for their intended function until all required security features are activated. In some embodiments, the meeting spaces include one or more electronically opaquing privacy glass windows between the meeting space and the adjoining facility. The privacy glass can either appear as opaque, such as when a classified meeting or call is taking place or as a failsafe mode, or can be optically transmissive, such as when the space is unused, is used for unclassified purposes, and/or when the adjoining area is used at the same or higher level of classification.

Abstract: A tracking system is provided that tracks user browsing activity while maintaining user privacy. It is determined whether a cookie is stored in local storage of a client device. If the cookie is not stored: a tracking identification (ID) is generated; the tracking ID, a cookie rotation timestamp, and a failed request counter in a generated cookie is stored; and the generated cookie is copied and attached to a transmitted event. If the cookie is stored: it is determined whether a time indicated by a stored cookie rotation timestamp is in the past; if the time is in the past, a flag requesting a new cookie value is set for a transmitted event; and if the time is not in the past, the stored cookie is copied and attached to a transmitted event.
