Abstract: Various embodiments pertain to techniques for decreasing an amount of time to a browser onload event by asynchronously loading web page content. In various embodiments, frames are utilized to trigger an onload event before all content in a web page is loaded. In some embodiments, various components of the web page, such as advertisements, are provided in frames, and the loading of the components is triggered by an onload event of the frame. In other words, an empty frame can be provided for the purposes of triggering both a frame onload event and an onload event for the web page. The frame onload event can cause a page script to be executed effective to load the components into the frames. In some embodiments, two or more nested frames are utilized to provide asynchronous loading of web page components while maintaining compatibility of the advertisement or multimedia items and the web page.

Abstract: A system and related method are disclosed for rendering a set of words linked to an n-dimensional vector space in a word cloud rendered from a two-dimensional projection of the vector space, where the user can click and drag a word, and the subspace and projection thereon will shift to place the word where the user has dragged it in a new projection, and the other words in the cloud will shift correspondingly, offering the user new insights. The importance of words in a document set is represented by word size, and relatedness between words demonstrated by color similarity.

Abstract: A method for generating an assent indication in a document approval and review function can include loading a document for editing in a document editor and determining a set of authors for the document. The method also can include modifying a title of the document to include an identity of at least one of the authors in the set. Finally, the method can include changing a visual appearance in the title of an identity of the assenting author responsive to one of the authors in the set assenting to a publication of the document.

Abstract: The present invention includes a method and system for persistently self-replicating multiple ranges of cells through a copy-paste operation, in a multi dimensional spreadsheet. A set of ranges of cells is defined, wherein each range of cells has the same size. Each time the content of a range of cells belonging to this set is changed, a self-replication operation is performed automatically. The self-replication operation includes the steps of copying the changed range of cells onto a buffer; determining the set of ranges of cells to which the changed range of cells belongs; identifying the ranges of cells belonging to the set; and pasting the content of the buffer in each of the identified range of cells belonging to the set.

Abstract: Information representing content of a plurality of elements which are included in a structured document defined as a layer structure is obtained, and one of the elements included in the structured document is selected in accordance with the content of the elements included in the structured document. Then, the selected element is output separately from the other elements. Note that the elements included in the structured document are selectable in the plurality of layers and an element selected from any one of the layers is output separately from the other elements. By this, an appropriate element can be selected and output from among the plurality of elements included in the structured document.

Abstract: In a method for automated hyperlinking, a computer receives user input specifying a set of character sequence columns in a table to use for character sequence comparison. The computer detects whether a character sequence entered into an electronic communication in a user interface on a display matches one or more character sequences in fields of the set of character sequence columns. Responsive to the character sequence matching a single character sequence of the one or more character sequences in the fields of the set of character sequence columns, the computer retrieves, from an associated link field in the table, a hyperlink associated with the single character sequence. The computer inserts the hyperlink into the electronic communication.

Abstract: A method and system includes a server that provides a business management service to multiple independent customers. A template repository provides predefined templates, and a configuration storage stores customer changes to the predefined templates that represent customized templates. A user interface facilitates selection of customized templates as a function of scope of work for fine tuning.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing a document authoring application. A palette comprising a plurality of editing controls may be displayed within the canvas that is associated with an electronic document having an associated structure. The palette may be positioned within the canvas based at least in part on the associated structure of the electronic document. Responsive to selections of editing controls at the palette, documents objects may be added to the canvas. The palette may be repositioned within the canvas based at least in part on the structure associated with the electronic document.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for visual definitions of data associations. In accordance with one implementation, a method is provided for visual definitions of data associations. The method includes obtaining and displaying a first sample document, receiving a first input indicating selection of one or more objects within the first sample document, and determining a first set of one or more characteristics shared by the selected objects. The method also includes identifying, within one or more target documents, one or more target objects characterized by the first set of one or more characteristics, and storing object data associated with the target objects.

Abstract: Green printing is utilized to repurpose a document. An indication is received that a printout of a document from a printer has been requested. The document has content with a format that would result in a first quantity of pages being printed. The content is grouped into one or more regions. Further, one or more transformations are applied to the content for each region such that the printer prints the document with the content in a transformed format that results in a second quantity of pages being printed without falling below a predetermined readability threshold. The second quantity of pages is less than the first quantity of pages. Further, the one or more transformations being applied to the document may result in a second quantity of ink being utilized to print the document such that the second quantity of ink being less than the first quantity of ink.

Abstract: In one embodiment, receiving, at a first computing device from a second computing device, a request for a view of a user interface of a native application executing on the second computing device, wherein the view includes one or more first user interface components; determining, by the first computing device, a user agent type of the second computing device; selecting, by the first computing device, one or more second user-interface components to be included in the view based on the user agent type of the second computing device; generating, by the first computing device, code implementing a structured document that represents the view, wherein the structured document comprises the one or more first user-interface components and the one or more second user-interface components; and transmitting, from the first computing device to the second computing device, the code.

Abstract: A mobile terminal and controlling method thereof are disclosed, which facilitates a terminal to be used in further consideration of user's convenience. According to at least one of embodiments of the present invention, while a webpage is being displayed in a mobile terminal, a function frequently used by the mobile terminal is available by interconnecting to the webpage despite that the webpage is not closed. The present invention includes storing an object oriented program having a prescribed function, accessing an external server providing a webpage, driving a web browser for a webpage source by receiving the webpage source of the webpage from the external server, and displaying the webpage by rendering the webpage provided by the external server with a modified webpage having the prescribed function reflected thereon in a manner that the web browser configures a document object model tree using the web browser source and the object oriented program together.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed to develop a patent document by generating a user manipulable claim data structure for a claim relationship between at least a descendant and a parent claims; and utilizing an interactive graphical user interface so that when a user selects a claim, a graphical representation of the claim relationship is diagrammed, wherein the interactive graphical user interface allows moving a claim using drag and drop selection and automatically renumbering the claims to show new claim relationship; and wherein the interactive graphical user interface shows one or more elements recited in each claim in respective one or more text boxes for editing and for drag and drop movement of the one or more text boxes to indicate claim element arrangement and relationship to another element in the claim.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, computer program product, and computer system for viewing content encoded in at least one code set and stored in a file system. A computer identifies a unified code set covering all characters used in the file system. The computer, responsive to a user input to view the content, determines whether the content is wholly encoded in the unified code set. The computer, responsive to determining that the code set is not wholly encoded in the unified code set, converts encoding of the content to the unified code set to form converted content. The computer displays the converted content.

Abstract: A spreadsheet is repurposed to save paper and ink. An indication that a printout of a spreadsheet from a printer has been requested is received. The spreadsheet has content with a format that would result in a first quantity of pages being printed. Further, a printable range for the spreadsheet is determined. In addition, an overlap analysis of the spreadsheet is performed to determine if any of the plurality of shapes in the spreadsheet overlap one another. Each print zone is isolated in the spreadsheet. The print zone includes a group of cells. Each print zone is transformed into a transformed print zone. Further, a green spreadsheet is generated, without falling below a predetermined readability threshold, based on each transformed print zone such that the green spreadsheet has a second quantity of pages that is less than the first quantity of pages.

Abstract: Lines drawn on a touch screen with an inputting window opened are recognized as ruled lines which are parallel with a row or column of a spreadsheet, and a square formed by the ruled lines is set to a cell in the spreadsheet when the square is formed. Consequently, it is possible to create the spreadsheet when a user of a computer simply draws a line with a fingertip or the like over the touch screen, and furthermore, it is also possible to input a value to the cell by specifying the square part drawn with the lines to carry out an operation for inputting data. Thus, there is provided a spreadsheet creating interface which makes the most of a visibility and an operability of the touch screen.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for tagged data and rectangular data conversions. The system and method receive tagged input data that is in a non-rectangular format and that uses a hierarchical arrangement of tags to indicate data relationships. The tagged input data is displayed in a graphical interface, and the graphical interface is used to create a mapping specification from the tagged input data.

Abstract: A digital processing device is configured to perform a method comprising: identifying logical page numbers of a document, the identifying constrained to identify either zero or one logical page number per page of the document, the logical page numbers and an ordering of the pages of the document defining an ordered sequence of logical page numbers; identifying a sequence of logical page number references in the document, each logical page number reference matching one of the logical page numbers of the document; and selecting a sub-sequence of the sequence of logical page number references for which corresponding logical page numbers are in a nondecreasing order in the ordered sequence of logical page numbers. The sub-sequence is used in organizing the document, for example by generating hyperlinks linking the logical page number references of the selected sub-sequence with corresponding pages indicated by the logical page numbers.

Abstract: An electronic document includes header, view, data, and signature sections. The data section provides data typically processed in transactions involving the electronic document. The view section includes presentation formatting for displays corresponding to the data. Linking elements identify corresponding main data values and view data values respectively used to populate the data section and display presentation formatting, and are accessible for determining whether the data in the display and data section, providing assurances that processed data matches that found in documents used by parties to a transaction. A digital signature section allows a digital signature to be provided, and used to wrap that data and view sections, to ensure authenticity. The header section provides document type, state and other information that is readily accessed without otherwise scanning the electronic document.
