Abstract: The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for information searching. The method includes: displaying a shooting interface for image search, and displaying guide information in the shooting interface; obtaining an image shot according to the guide information; and obtaining a search result according to the image shot and displaying the search result. With the present method for information searching, an accuracy rate of the image search may be improved, and requirements of a user may be better satisfied.

Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for creating a restore copy from a copy of source data in a repository having source data at different point-in-times and reading data from the repository for the restore copy. The source data is copied as of an initial point-in-time to a repository. Point-in-time copies at different point-in-times of the source data are initiated following the initial point-in-time. Change information for the point-in-time copy indicating changed data in the source data that changed between the point-in-time of the point-in-time copy and a subsequent point-in-time are transmitted to the repository. For each point-in-time copy, changed source data indicated in the change information for the point-in-time copy as changed is copied to the repository. A restore copy is returned to a restore request before the source data in the repository as of a restore point-in-time is copied to the restore copy.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for managing data using an in-memory database are provided. One of the methods comprises, determining whether a memory utilization rate is equal to or greater than a threshold value, reducing the value of replication factor of data stored in the memory, when the memory utilization rate is equal to or greater than the threshold value as a result of the determination, and deleting at least one data duplicated with the data, in accordance with the reducing the value of replication factor.

Abstract: A report execution engine processes reports for evaluating advertising campaigns. The report execution engine maintains a plurality of generators, each generator including instructions to generate execution plans for one or more columns of a report. The report execution engine uses different generators for generating sub-plans for processing columns of the report. A generator generates a sub-plan for processing a column of the report and invokes other generators for generating sub-plans for remaining columns of the report. The generator receives a sub-plan for the remaining columns of the report from another generator and generates a combined execution plan based on the sub-plans. An execution plan comprises a hierarchical structure of nodes, each node representing a portion of computation of the report. The report execution engine generates the report based on the execution plan and sends the results for presentation.

Abstract: Some configurations of the subject technology provide a user interface including an activity-creation display configured to create a first activity of several activities, and a single-activity display configured to display a single activity of the several activities, and information related to a list of users associated with the activity. The single-activity display includes a parameter-entry display configured to select a parameter for the single activity and to send a signal to the single activity corresponding to the selected parameter, a heads-up display configured to send a heads-up message about the single activity to a user, a location display configured to display information related to a location of the single activity, a status indicator configured to display a status based on the status parameter of the single activity, and a status-entry display configured to, upon selection, send a signal to change the status indicator of the single activity.

The external device includes storage. The media player is to cause information to be downloaded onto the external device's storage. The information to be used by said media player when playing content from said removable medium. After receiving the removable medium, the logic is to determine whether an update is available on the network for the information. The logic is to provide access to the information once stored in the external device's storage.

Abstract: Systems and methods of utilizing multiple threads to facilitate parallel data copying to reduce an amount of time associated with backing up data. A request to copy application is received that indicates a number of available threads. A first available thread is used to select files from the application for backup. Selecting a file includes adding files to a work queue and creating backup work items associated with the work queue files. The files in the work queue are processed by a multiple threads in parallel such that an amount of time associated with backup up the application is reduced.

Abstract: A system for restoring purged data includes an input interface and a processor. The input interface to receive an indication of purged data to restore. The processor is to reinstate the purged data using a stored copy and rebuild one or more relations to the purged data using an effective change stack.

Abstract: A question and answer based customer support system is provided through which users submit question data representing questions to be answered using support resources. Low quality and/or high quality question formats are defined and questions having a low quality question format are labeled improperly formatted questions, while questions having a high quality question format are labeled properly formatted questions. Received question data is analyzed to determine if the question data represents an improperly or properly formatted question before allocating support resources to generating an answer. If, a determination is made that the question data represents an improperly formatted question, corrective actions are taken before allocating support resources to generating an answer. If a determination is made that the question data represents a properly formatted question, the question represented by the question data is allocated support resources to generate an answer on a priority basis.

Abstract: A forensic system includes a result information receiving unit that receives result information which is a determination result of connection between a lawsuit and a document group including a predetermined number of documents, which is extracted from document data included in digital information, by a user, an element selection unit that calculates evaluation values of elements which commonly appear in the document group in each result information item from the characteristics of the elements and selects the elements on the basis of the evaluation values, a score calculation unit that calculates a score of each document in the document data from the selected elements included in each document of the document data and the evaluation values of the selected elements, and a recall ratio calculation unit that calculates a recall ratio related to the determination of the connection to the lawsuit on the basis of the score.

Abstract: Techniques are described for managing the execution of one or more groups of queries. Embodiments of the present disclosure may generally receive a group of queries to be executed against a database. Embodiments also determine, based on one or more attributes of the group of queries, an expected amount of resources that will be used in executing the group of queries against the database. Embodiments further schedule one or more queries of the group of queries for execution against the database based on the expected amount of resources to be used for the group of queries.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for receiving, aggregating, and analyzing data to develop caregiver rankings, recommendations, and other information that care seekers may use to connect with caregivers for services, or for caregivers to use to connect with care seekers. Sample data can be obtained from a plurality of data sources, processed to form data clusters, aggregated to form data records, and provided to a care seeker searching for a caregiver or medical facility.

Abstract: Methods for developing an ontology of pharmacogenomics (PGx) relationships starting from a lexicon of key pharmacogenomic entities and a syntactic parse is described. The syntactic structure of PGx statements is used to systematically extract commonly occurring relationships and to map them to a common schema. In an embodiment, extracted relationships have a 70-87.7% precision and involve not only key PGx entities such as genes, drugs, and phenotypes (e.g., VKORC1, warfarin, clotting disorder), but also critical entities that are frequently modified by these key entities (e.g., VKORC1 polymorphism, warfarin response, clotting disorder treatment).

Abstract: Frame data is received from an agent instrumented on a software component, the frame data describing a particular request from the software component to a database access component intercepted at the agent. The particular request corresponds to a transaction involving a database and the software component can interface with the database using the database access component. A service mode is identified that corresponds to the transaction and virtualization data is generated based on the service model and the particular request. The virtualization data is sent to the agent that describes a virtualized response to be provided by the agent to the software component as a response to the particular request.

Abstract: A media agent is configured to perform substantially autonomously to initiate, continue, and manage information management operations such as a backup job of a certain client's primary data, manage the operations, and generate and store resultant system-level metadata from the operations, etc. The media agent is configured to do this even when out of communication with the storage manager that manages the information management system. When communications are restored, the media agent reports the relevant metadata to the storage manager. The storage manager comprises corresponding enhancements, including specialized logic for identifying the media agent as an intelligent media agent capable of some autonomous functionality, for transmitting management parameters thereto, and for seamlessly integrating the received metadata into the storage manager's associated management infrastructure such as a management database.

It includes (a) receiving a reservation-altering storage command, (b) calculating a volume liability by summing together (1) a total number of allocated data blocks stored on the volume and (2) a maximum value, over each of the filesystem and the snapshots, of a difference between (A) a count of guaranteed thick blocks for that filesystem or snapshot based on a count received from the filesystem including a sum, over each thick file on the filesystem, of data blocks guaranteed to that file and (B) a number of uncompressed mapped data blocks marked as thick by the filesystem for that filesystem or snapshot, and (c) providing a number of blocks of backing store for the volume equal to at least the calculated volume liability.

Abstract: A method and associated systems for generating a virtual dynamic representative of a taxonomic group with unique inheritance of attributes. Each record of a continuously updated database identifies a “vertical” attribute of an entity associated with that record, and further identifies a “horizontal” attribute upon which a business decision may be based. An account-management apparatus selects a subset of these records that are associated with a particular value of the vertical attribute and identifies the most desirable value of the horizontal attribute that is associated with any of the selected records. The apparatus then creates a virtual representative of the subset that represents the subset as a taxonomic group associated with the particular value of the vertical attribute and associates all records of the group with the most desirable value of the horizontal attribute.

Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to de-duplicating contextually similar news feed items. In particular, it relates to assembling a set of news feed items from a plurality of electronic sources and preprocessing the set to generate normalized news feed items that share common company-name mentions and token occurrences. The normalized news feed items are used to calculate one or more resemblance measures based on a sequence alignment score and/or a hyperlink score. The sequence alignment score determines contextual similarity between news feed item pairs, arranged as sequences, based on a number of matching elements in the news feed item sequences and a number of edit operations, such as insertion, deletion, and substitution, required to match the news feed item sequences. The hyperlink score determines contextual similarity between news feed item pairs by comparing the respective search results retrieved in response to supplying the news feed item pairs to a search engine.
