  • Patent number: 4907727
Abstract: A hand-held dispenser for dispensing two fluid components of an adhesive polymer through a nozzle and into openings defined within wall structures so as to provide a high strength hold upon metal anchors subsequently inserted into the openings. The dispenser includes an improved plunger assembly for efficiently expelling the fluids from the respective chambers into the nozzle. The improved plunger assembly includes a compression pad mounted on the end of a piston. The compression pad and piston are enclosed by a dome shaped cap which creates an air chamber in between to exert pressure on the compression pad when dispensing to deform the pad to create a seal between the plunger assembly and the cylinder in which it is housed.

  • Patent number: 4905868
Abstract: A dispenser nozzle for a paper towel container holding a roll of perforated paper towels includes a flange for coupling the nozzle apparatus to the container. A conical funnel is integral with the flange and has an entrance opening adjacent the flange to receive the paper towels therethrough. The other end of the funnel has an exit hole which is smaller than the entrance hole and provides an exit for the paper towels passing through the funnel. The entrance opening and exit opening are dimensioned such that a first paper towel will separate from a following paper towel along the perforation boundary therebetween when a leading portion of the following paper towel has exited from the exit opening in the funnel. Preferably, the exit portion of the funnel includes at least one removable section in order that the nozzle may be adjusted for different sizes of paper towels to be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 4890825
Abstract: The present invention comprises a paper sheet stacking and jogging apparatus for the semi-continuous stacking and jogging of individually fed sheets of paper from devices such as printing or duplicating machinery. A conveyor, comprising a pair of powered forward pinch rollers and a pair of powered rearward pinch rollers each having a plurality of driving tires, conveys the sheets within the apparatus. A beam strengthener, comprising two pairs of crowned and recessed tires, which are not driving tires, give the sheets beam strength as they are deposited to prevent jamming of the apparatus. A high-capacity, self-leveling tray assembly and elevating elevator receives the deposited sheets. A jogger selectively jogs the sheets which are deposited into the tray assembly into physically separated, distinct, aligned job stacks.

  • Patent number: 4890765
Abstract: A packaging device for storing, dispensing and collecting a plurality of blood collection units. The packaging device includes a rectangularly shaped container, a first opening for dispensing unused blood collection units and a second opening for receiving the blood collection units after use. The device includes a slidable tape positioned on the upper surface of the container which is in the form of a continuous band mounted on the container. The unused blood collection units are attached to the slidable tape within the container and movement of the slidable tape with respect to the container advances the unused blood collection units into the first opening so that they are then removed from the slidable tape. A bag being initially folded and disposed within the portion of the container for holding the unused blood collection units, the ends of the bag having an open end attached to the container in alignment with a second opening for receiving and holding used blood collection units.

  • Patent number: 4809968
Abstract: Side registering a sheet during forward movement of the sheet with lateral movement of the sheet causing one side edge of the sheet to engage a registration edge guide, by moving the sheet with skewed rollers providing a sheet engaging and driving nip, wherein the registration edge guide is substantially in one plane but has a small localized arcuate deformation out of that plane adjacent the nip, causing localized arcuate deformation of the sheet, the nip also being spaced from the plane by a corresponding amount, the localized arcuate deformation of the edge guide and the spacing of the nip providing localized bending of a portion of the sheet at the nip for improved side registering. The registration edge guide is preferably substantially linear V-shaped slot engaging one edge of the sheet therein and directing it toward a smooth bottom comprising only a small portion of the slot and lying substantially in the plane except at the localized arcuate deformation.
