The livestock treatment application system typically includes an application subsystem that only applies one or more livestock treatment liquid to an upward-facing surface of an animal. The application subsystem may include at least one livestock treatment liquid containing container, an electromechanical pump fluidly connected to the at least one livestock treatment liquid containing container via at least one flexible fluid transport line where the at least one flexible fluid transport line interconnects the at least one livestock treatment liquid containing container and the electromechanical pump and a nozzle, and a user activated switch on an exterior surface of the waterproof junction box configured to activate the electromechanical pump and dispense the at least one livestock treatment liquid upon activation of the user activated switch by a user; and a dosing selection subsystem system.

A method for preventing mosquito bites for a subject can include providing such a mosquito control net and having the subject occupy it. A kit of parts for converting a conventional mosquito control net into a trapping mosquito control net can comprise a funnel-shaped receptacle surrounded by a bag, the bag being substantially impermeable to mosquitos and the receptacle and/or the bag being attachable to a top surface of the conventional mosquito control net to form a trap compartment.

Abstract: An aquaculture system includes a pen configured to be disposed in a body of water and configured to at least temporarily store aquatic animals during development. A control system is configured to receive electric power from a power source and is configured to provide electric power to a pumping mechanism coupled to the pen such that the pumping mechanism provides a flow of water through the pen. A set of buoyancy tanks are coupled to the pen. A portion of the control system is in fluid communication with the set of buoyancy tanks and is configured to adjust a volume of fluid in at least one buoyancy tank to move the pen from a first position in which the pen is partially submerged in the body of water to a second position in which the pen is fully submerged in the body of water.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of trapping arthropods by providing a substantially planar, flexible insert having a LED-facing surface having an adhesive for trapping the arthropods disposed thereon. Then, bending the insert into a curved configuration and inserting the insert into an arthropod trapping device. The device includes a housing having a base and a curved shade. The curved shade is configured to receive the insert and comprises a LED-facing surface. A first LED having a peak wavelength of from about 400 nm to about 500 nm is mounted on the base and is configured to emit light in a direction substantially perpendicular to the LED-facing surface of the shade. A second LED having a peak wavelength of from about 350 nm to about 400 nm is mounted on the base and is configured to emit light in a direction substantially parallel to the LED-facing surface of the shade.

Abstract: An equine boot including a sole member having an interior for receiving a bottom of a hoof; and an upper for retaining the boot on the hoof, the upper having dorsal apertures such that when the boot is worn, bulbs of the hoof protrude through respective apertures. The apertures at least partially define a bulb-engaging element for engaging the peripheries of the bulbs so as to retain the bulbs in the apertures and impede rotation of the boot relative to the hoof.

Abstract: A live-crustacean holding fishing device and methods of making it are disclosed. The device includes a clasp attached to a long shank fishing hook. The clasp has a shell grasping portion at one end and is attached to tubular stretchable hook-casing at the other. The hook-casing has an attached ring tab. A live crustation is attached by fitting the shell grasping portion of the clasp between the carapace and first segment of the abdomen, then stretching the hook-casing so that the ring tab fits over the shrimp's horn. This secures the live crustation to the hook, but allows it to live and swim freely thereby serving as a live lure. The clasp is either glued to, or molded around, the shank of the hook. The hook-casing is secured to the clasp either by an adhesive or by lateral openings that fit over lateral protrusions on the clasp.
