Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for adaptive training of a machine learning system configured to predict answers to questions associated with textual data includes receiving predicted answers to questions associated with textual data. The predicted answers are generated based at least in part on one or more first models of a machine learning system. The one or more first models are associated with a first accuracy score. The method further includes determining based at least in part on a quality control parameter whether an evaluation of the questions by one or more external entities is required. In response to determining based at least in part on the quality control parameter that an evaluation of the questions by one or more external entities is required, the questions associated with the textual data and the textual data are sent to the one or more external entities for evaluation.

Abstract: Various embodiments concern mechanisms for facilitating communication between network-accessible platforms for developing, hosting, or running hybrid applications that utilize resources hosted across multiple platforms. Hybrid applications cause messages or “calls” to be passed between the platforms that must be authenticated. For example, when a call is placed by a Heroku platform to a Force.com platform, the call must be authenticated for security purposes. If Heroku has not already been authenticated when the call is submitted, an authentication process is invoked. An event listener can be used to register details regarding the initial callout task, and then register or “fire” an event when the authentication process is successfully completed. Registration of the initial callout task completely separates the authentication process from the resource being invoked. Requests can be completed without requiring further user input using at least some of the details registered by the event listener.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a device binding method and apparatus, and an electronic device. The method includes: sending, by a first application program executing a first protocol, a query instruction to a target device, the query instruction being used to query a first device identifier of the target device in a second protocol; receiving, by the first application program, the first device identifier sent by the target device; and providing, by the first application program, the first device identifier, to enable a second application program executing the second protocol to bind a login account of the second application program to the target device based on the first device identifier.

Abstract: Techniques for synthetic data generation in computer-based reasoning systems are discussed and include receiving a request for generation of synthetic training data based on a set of training data cases. One or more focal training data cases are determined. For undetermined features (either all of them or those that are not subject to conditions), a value for the feature is determined based on the focal cases. In some embodiments, validity of the generated value may be checked based on feature information. In some embodiments, generated synthetic data may be checked against all or a portion of the training data to ensure that it is not overly similar.

Abstract: A method, system and computer-readable storage medium for performing a cognitive information processing operation. The cognitive information processing operation includes: receiving data from a plurality of data sources; processing the data from the plurality of data sources to provide cognitively processed insights via an augmented intelligence system, the augmented intelligence system executing on a hardware processor of an information processing system, the augmented intelligence system and the information processing system providing a cognitive computing function; performing an impartiality assessment operation via an impartiality assessment engine, the impartiality assessment operation detecting a presence of bias in an outcome of the cognitive computing function; and, providing the cognitively processed insights to a destination, the destination comprising a cognitive application, the cognitive application enabling a user to interact with the cognitive insights.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a traffic monitoring method and apparatus, an integrated circuit, and a network device. When the traffic monitoring apparatus receives a packet, after determining that the traffic monitoring apparatus includes an empty first register, the traffic monitoring apparatus updates a value of first information in the first register to a measured value of a target performance indicator of the packet, and increases a value of second information in the first register by 1. The value of the second information in the first register is 0, the first information in the first register indicates a depth of a data bucket that carries a measured value of the target performance indicator of a to-be-monitored packet, and the second information in the first register indicates a quantity of packets that are in received packets and that match the value of the first information in the first register.

Abstract: Resource state validation may be performed for access management policies by an identity and access management system. An access management policy associated with an account for network-based services may be received and validated according to resource state obtained for resources associated with the account. A correction for a portion of the access management policy may be identified according to the validation and provided via an interface for the identity and access management system.

Abstract: A computing system aggregates information from a plurality of information channels associated with a computing device and a user of the computing device. A user configures the access for the computing system to specific information channels at a user interface. Based on a knowledge base and by machine learning techniques, the computing system analyzes the aggregated information to identify information relevant to an intelligent action for execution on behalf of the user. The computing system identifies the intelligent action in the context of the user's preferences and permissions granted to the computing system. The computing system initiates execution of the intelligent action based on a confidence level derived from analysis of information contained the knowledge base and historical decisioning information. The computing system receives feedback for an executed action and incorporates the feedback in the knowledge base for future decisioning based on aggregated information.

Abstract: A system and method for simultaneously and continuously capturing video from the interior and exterior of a vehicle. The system includes, for example, a first housing including a first connection mechanism, first and second cameras and a memory disposed in the first housing. The system also includes a second housing including a second connection mechanism adapted to be removably connected to the first connection mechanism of the first housing and encasing said first housing within the second housing. A mounting mechanism is adjustably connected to said second housing and configured to maintain at least one of the first camera and the second camera in a predetermined position by adjusting the second housing. Additional embodiments are also described including a method for capturing data.

Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor that may generate a migration assessment for resources of a computer system. In particular, the apparatus may logically divide topological information to facilitate identification of a resource, components used by the resource, and dependencies. The system further enables users to specify user-defined migration parameters that specify the migration. For instance, the parameters may specify a cost associated with the migration of the component, a license model of the component, a security requirement of the component, a performance of the component, a customization of the component, or requirement of the component. Migration assessments and decisions may be stored to train machine-learned models. For instance, the model may assess whether a parameter will be satisfied by using a certain cloud service and whether substitutes have sufficiently satisfied dependencies based on observed migration assessments and actual migrations.

Abstract: A server operates between a patron (user), a subscriber (e.g., owner of a venue of exhibits and its website; museum, stadium, zoo, theme park, etc.), and possibly third parties such as a content distribution network (CDN). Access and content delivery are based on 1) control information provided to a patron device by physical objects at the venue and sent by the patron device to the server as part of a mutual authentication to one another, 2) user-specific information corresponding to the patron device, and 3) a pre-authorization exchange granting user-device access to physical objects and the server with the server receiving access to the user-specific information in order to locate requested information and select a subset thereof adapted in accordance with the user information. Moving physically between exhibits, a patron device rapidly disengages and re-engages the server, based thereon, without repeated logins.

Abstract: A method to distribute and manage virtual reality (VR) content among a plurality of headsets can be provided by receiving VR experience configuration information from an administrator of a VR experience including VR content module information identifying the VR content modules to be executed during the VR experience, transmitting information over a network responsive to the VR experience configuration information to a plurality of headsets to operate the plurality of headsets as part of the VR experience subject to operating limitations of the VR content identified by the VR content module information, receiving information from the plurality of headsets relating to operation of the VR experience and, monitoring the information relating to operation of the VR experience relative to the limitations of the VR content identified by the VR content module information.

Abstract: Various techniques described herein relate to a client application framework for a contact center environment. A role-specific thick client framework may include a web browser-based application having multiple processes that can be distributed across the computing infrastructure of the client device. A portion of the framework may include a container application image received from an internal server of the contact center and launched by the client device. The framework also may include queuing and communication services executing on the client device, which interface with the internal client application and external service providers to support a common queuing framework and an integrated model implementation across the contact center environment.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture for custom interface specification in a cloud management system are disclosed. An example cloud management system includes: a first interface to communicate with a second interface external to the cloud management system; and a host to manage requests from the second interface and allocate resources to the second interface as a reverse proxy for the second interface with respect to a backend. The example host is to at least: add, at the request of the second interface, an endpoint with respect to the second interface; fetch, at the request of the second interface, data for the endpoint from the backend, the backend identified for the endpoint based on metadata in a component registry; and provide the data from the backend to the second interface.

Abstract: Techniques are described for enabling users of a service provider network to create and configure “application profiles” that include parameters related to execution of user workloads at provider substrate extensions. Once an application profile is created, users can request the deployment of user workloads to provider substrate extensions by requesting instance launches based on a defined application profile. The service provider network can then automate the launch and placement of the user's workload at one or more provider substrate extensions using edge-optimized compute instances (e.g., compute instances tailored for execution within provider substrate extension environments).

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for parental controls based on the location of a wireless computing device. Wireless access points may be located in different locations, e.g., in different rooms of a home. The location of the wireless computing device may be determined based on comparing measured signal strengths to baseline signal strengths associated with the location. Information related to an access level associated with the location may be determined. The access level may, for example, permit access to content in a first location, but prevent access to the content in a second location. Content may be provided to the wireless computing device based on the access level associated with the location.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for dependency aware parallel splitting of operations. For example, a first operation and a second operation may be replicated in parallel from a first device to a second device if the operations only target a single common inode that is an access control list inode referenced by the operations. An operation that dereferences the access control list inode can be replicated in parallel with other operations if the operation does not have the potential to delete the access control list inode from the second device. In another example, operations may be replicated to the second device in parallel if the operations only affect a single common parent directory inode and where timestamps are only moved forward in time at the second device.

Abstract: A method for communicating in real-time to users of a provider of Internet access service, without requiring any installation or set-up by the user, that utilizes the unique identification information automatically provided by the user during communications for identifying the user to provide a fixed identifier which is then communicated to a redirecting device. Messages may then be selectively transmitted to the user. The system is normally transparent to the user, with no modification of its content along the path. Content then may be modified or replaced along the path to the user. For the purposes of establishing a reliable delivery of bulletin messages from providers to their users, the system forces the delivery of specially-composed World Wide Web browser pages to the user, although it is not limited to that type of data.
