  • Patent number: 8050683
Abstract: A method of determining handoff of a user equipment (UE) to a transferee serving station from a transferor serving station at the transferee serving station is provided. The transferee serving station (e.g., a Node B) measures an energy level in a first portion of an uplink channel (e.g., an uplink high-speed dedicated physical control channel (HS-DPCCH)), the first portion of the uplink channel associated with the transferee serving station. In an example, the first portion of the uplink channel is where a channel quality indicator (CQI) is expected to be reported from the UE for the transferee serving station. The transferee serving station also measures an energy level in a second portion of the uplink channel, the second portion of the uplink channel associated with the transferor serving station. In an example, the second portion of the uplink channel is where a CQI is expected to be reported from the UE for the transferor serving station.

  • Patent number: 8032148
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for wireless cellular indoor communications, the method comprising at least one base station connected to a cell management unit through a first digital connection interface, the cell management unit connected to at least one RF hub through a second digital connection interface, and the at least one RF hub connected to at least one remote radio head through a third digital connection interface, the at least one remote radio head providing service in a certain cell area inside a confined environment, and the cell management unit comprising means for providing efficient load balancing at and between base stations through adaptive cell reconfiguration; means for mapping carriers, time, frequency or time-frequency allocations to individual radio heads; means for alignment of individual delays accumulated on the digital connections between the cell management unit and each of the radio heads; means for synchronization of the signals between the cell management unit and the individ

  • Patent number: 8023465
Abstract: A method for performing a handover in a mesh network for a plurality of nodes (A, A?, B) of said mesh network from a first access point (AP1) to a second access point (AP2), whereas said plurality of nodes (A, A?, B) forms a tree of nodes, said tree comprising a root node (B) and one or more further nodes (A,A?) connected to said root node either directly or via intermediate nodes, and said handover being performed for said tree of nodes in a coordinated fashion, said method comprising: forwarding to said members of said tree (A, A?, B) information about said second access point (AP2) and timing information to enable a coordinated handover of said nodes of said tree; switching said root node (B) and said further (A,A?) nodes from said first access point to said second access point according to said timing information.

  • Patent number: 7904088
Abstract: The present invention relates to identifying resources allocated in a cellular network for a mobile station for packet-switched services. A first identifier is used for identifying a mobile station, and a second identifier is used for identifying resources allocated for packet-switched services for the mobile station. When a mobile station is entering or has entered a second cell from a first cell, a value of a first type for the second identifier is determined. The first type of the second identifier is for use in both the first cell and the second cell for transmitting packet-switched data between the cellular network and the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 7720027
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing forward link only (FLO) signals. A device receives a FLO signal, processes a TDM pilot comprising a TDM Pilot 1, a TDM Pilot 2, a WIC, a LIC, a Transition Pilot Channel, and a Positioning Pilot, from the FLO signal, processes an overhead information symbol (OIS) comprising a wide-area OIS and a local-area OIS, from the FLO signal, processes an FDM pilot comprising a wide-area FDM pilot and a local-area FDM pilot, from the FLO signal; and processes data comprising wide-area data and local-area data, from the FLO signal.

  • Patent number: 7706845
Abstract: A method and system for determining standby time for a mobile station uses a battery simulator, a base station emulator, a computer to control the test equipment and MSUT for testing a mobile station. The computer includes a module for determining a radio off battery voltage, a module for deriving a battery capacity in dependence upon the radio off battery voltage, a module for measuring battery capacity usage in a predetermined time while the mobile station is in standby mode and a module for determining a standby time for the mobile station in dependence upon the battery capacity and the battery capacity usage, where the predetermined time is less than the standby time.
