  • Patent number: 8924286
Abstract: A system and method are provided that, among other things, can reduce the burden on receiving computers, increase data throughput, reduce system failure, and provide components of a scalable and flexible network architecture. Specifically, the system and method provide a multichannel-multicast network environment for use in dynamically assigning data to channels. This configuration is particularly useful in a trading network environment, as it effectively performs channel reassignments in a way not to disturb the receipt of the underlying data. While the example embodiments described herein pertain to electronic trading, the principles of the present invention may be equally applied in other environments where the advantages presented herein are beneficial.

  • Patent number: 8924241
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed herein to determine an insurance benefit associated with an insurance policy for an asset, such as an automobile or a residence. The system includes a computer memory and a processor in communication with the computer memory. The computer memory may store data indicative of (i) a recommended maintenance schedule for the asset and (ii) at least one actual maintenance event that has occurred in connection with the asset. The processor may compare the at least one actual maintenance event with the recommended maintenance schedule and determine the benefit for the insurance policy based at least in part on a result of said comparing. The processor may then transmit an indication of the benefit for the insurance policy.

  • Patent number: 8812332
Abstract: This invention relates generally to a computer system and method for integrating insurance policy underwriting. In one aspect it integrates the older legacy insurance policy generating systems to on line systems where users access the system through browsers. The computer system to perform the process of underwriting, rating, quoting, binding, and booking an insurance policy includes browsers, data bases, processors and a dispatcher that parses the information to select an insurance process. Suitable software programs review messages received from users to determine if certain messages are less than a prescribed limit. If a message is greater than the limit, then the message is parsed into a header information and one or more data fields whereby the header information is provided to a legacy processor and to policy generation software for further creation of policy related information and documentation.

  • Patent number: 8756159
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include systems, methods, and computer-program products that provide for a system to receive information related to check transaction based on the location of the user. In one embodiment of the invention, the computer-implemented method determines a location of a check transaction and stores the location in an archive in association with the check transaction. The method then determines a location of a user and determines a list of check transactions associated with the location of the user. In some embodiments, the method provides the list of check transactions to the user. The method may also provide offers or recommendations to the user, such as an offer to establish a direct transfer instead of using a check in the future. The user and/or the provider of the method may also broaden or narrow the search results based on characteristics of the transaction.

  • Patent number: 8731973
Abstract: Overlaying images in automated insurance policy form generation includes electronically converting a first form in a first format to a second format to and in response to receiving a Web page request, electronically communicating the second form to be displayed within the Web browser instead of electronically communicating the first form in the first format to be displayed within the Web browser. In the case where the first format is Adobe® portable document format (PDF) and the second format is Joint Picture Expert Group (JPEG) format, this enables the user of the browser to overlay images on the forms within the Web page interface of the browser, while it appears to the user they are overlaying images on the original PDF versions of the forms. The final integrated PDF form is then generated from the data indicating the location of the overlay image on the underlying JPEG form.
