  • Patent number: 7421267
Abstract: A local public information system can deliver public information to appropriate target persons in a local area at appropriate times, and make it possible for the persons to reconfirm the information once delivered, without incurring communication expenses and noise. The system includes an information delivery server and an on-board device for dedicated short-range radio communication both installed on a vehicle, a roadside device installed in the neighborhood of a road on which the vehicle is traveling; and a facility equipped with a base station server and an information output device connected to the roadside device. The vehicle with the information delivery server and the on-board device installed thereon circulates through the local area, so that public information or the like is delivered from the information delivery server to the base station server in the facility on a living quarter side through dedicated short-range radio communication between the on-board device and the roadside device.

  • Patent number: 7398079
Abstract: In one illustrative example, a mobile station includes a wireless transceiver which operates with a wireless communication network; a processor; memory coupled to the processor; and a user interface which includes a Push-To-Talk (PTT) switch for transmitting a PTT voice communication through the wireless transceiver, a PTT replay switch for replaying a PTT voice communication previously received through the wireless transceiver which is stored in the memory, and a speaker for outputting audible voice signals. The wireless transceiver is operative to receive a PTT key message; receive voice data of a PTT voice communication following the PTT key message; and receive a PTT dekey message following the voice data. The processor is operative to cause the voice data of the PTT voice communication to be recorded in the memory based on receiving the PTT key message, and cause the recording of voice data of the PTT voice communication to be terminated based on receiving the PTT dekey message.

  • Patent number: 7362188
Abstract: System and method for providing clocks to digital circuitry with a need for multiple clocks. A preferred embodiment comprises an oscillator controller (oscillator clock domain block 305) distributes a system clock generated by an oscillator to a plurality of clock domain blocks (GSM clock domain block 310 and so forth). The clock domain blocks use the system clock to generate specific clocks needed by attached hardware. The clock domain blocks may be programmed after manufacture to permit customized clock generation to meet requirements.

  • Patent number: 7346337
Abstract: Mobile terminal receives from a server a content, a sending time information which indicates the time of sending the content, and a time restriction information that indicates the time period when the content can be used. Mobile terminal correlates the content with the sending time information and the time restriction information, and stores them. Mobile terminal calculates the difference between the time of receiving the content and the sending time information. Mobile terminal correlates the difference with the content and stores them. Mobile terminal adds the difference to the current time kept by time keeping unit to obtain a usage determination reference time. Mobile terminal compares the usage determination reference time with the time restriction information to determine whether the mobile terminal can use the content or not.

  • Patent number: 7336956
Abstract: A method and system for mobile communication, in which method a channel is allocated for a connection having a certain quality of service between a mobile station and a base station in a network whose time-slots are synchronized with each other. The system collects interference information (202 to 204) from connections already in use, information on the traffic load of the network (205), defines a level value (206) for information to be communicated, forms a parameter value (201) for the channel of the cell and allocates the channel (200, 201).

  • Patent number: 7324556
Abstract: This new invention is a method of re-establishing MS-SGSN connections after a partial restart of SGSN, i.e., only the Gb-interface is restarted. The re-establishment is achieved without detaching the MS. With this method Ciphering is re-synchronised, PDP-contexts in unacknowledged mode are re-established, and SMS traffic over GPRS is re-established, while PDP-contexts in acknowledged mode are deactivated with order to re-activate. When the MS is moving within the coverage of a SGSN, the invention can be used to move the context closer to the used Gb-link. When the MS request better Quality of Service, the MS context can moved to more suitable SGSN resource with this invention.

  • Patent number: 7292878
Abstract: In this radio portable terminal communication system, a service document file is converted into a window-related document file, speech-dialog-related document file, and information sharing document file. A description of a telephone number for speech communication with a center is added to the window-related document file. The window-related document file is output to a place where the file can be used through packet communication. The speech-dialog-related document file is output to a place where the file can be referred to by a speech dialog control section (207). The information sharing document file is output to an information management section (204). The information management section (204) manages information in accordance with the general-purpose description language contents of the information sharing document file such that information can be shared between the window-related document file and the speech-dialog-related document file.

  • Patent number: 7266365
Abstract: A system and method of pushing user-selected data items from a host system to a user's mobile data communication device upon detecting the occurrence of one or more user-defined event triggers is provided. The user may then move (or file) the data items to a particular folder within a folder hierarchy stored in the mobile data communication device, or may execute some other system operation on the data item. Software operating at the mobile device and the host system then synchronizes the folder hierarchy of the mobile device with a folder hierarchy of the host system, and any actions executed on the data items at the mobile device are then automatically replicated on the same data items stored at the host system, thus eliminating the need for the user to manually replicate actions at the host system that have been executed at the mobile data communication device.
